Strayed far from the nest
I’m fed up living with dust
for years fleeting shade
bereft
of melody
of spirit I sink to
the hades of utter loss
I can’t
reckon hidden mysteries
I have lost the sea
for a mere cupful
void of patience and
peace now as I touch the breasts
of the field I crave
for a pure breath
native to
my being I search
sweet savours
of love

yesterday’s hubris
ached my heart
chasing too many Tennessee's.
The swirling colours of red and blue
obscure your Boutique and
midnight finery.
The night after makes
a fool of my outwards intentions
There's a barrack room discipline
ripping up my heart
Blowing hot and cold
your intentions are unbalanced
tis the fool’s tempest of false hope
My cupful is still
far from runneth over
There should be some spot for coffee
One drinks a cupful and it’s free;
For parting its curtain no fee,
Drinking with eyes on nearby tree,
Soon pausing to watch cup with glee;
To some heard remarks disagree,
To others reply with “l see!”
