No Sleep
Instability, pain
Pain in my eyes at the bright light
Wanting sleep tonight
Sleep is ellusive again

So cold, and alone
Pain comes too regular now
Aches and grinding joints,
Cramping, gnawing pain with shaking and weakness....

Night Time Poetry
Sitting here thinking about a poem to write,
So tired I am loosing sight
My fingers are cramping
and my head starts to hurt
I start thinking how much life is really worth
I can only determine how this poem will end
I mean, come on now,
I don't do this for pretend...

My Pain's Alive
My pain is alive
It decides when, where, and how it strikes
My pain lives
It has it own heartbeat
It races, paces
And it can even skip a beat
My pain has choices to make
Sick, burning, numbing, pricking
Cramping, ice cold, burning hot
Which to choose?
If it wasn't for my pain's life
Would I life?
All I know is my pain's alive...

Running, running, running faster
Trying to stave off disaster
To keep from losing in this race
It's time that I picked up the pace

Breathing, breathing, breathing harder
Hope I don't end up a martyr
My lungs are burning, legs are weak
The finish line is all I seek

Cramping, cramping, cramping woes
I'm losing feeling in my toes
I know it's not a mortal sin
But Hell, I came in last again...

I Don'T Want To Write Anymore
I don't wanna write tonight anymore.
My fingers are cramping more and more.

I keep getting rhymes rushing through my brain.
My hand grabs the pen no matter the pain.

I'm tired, Mind, make it stop.
Another day, I'll pick up where we left off.

My head's going to burst.
My body throbbing of sleep thirst.

Just for tonight, Leave me alone
I need time on my own.
I need to go to bed and not write anymore....

Oh for the Love of Fibro
there for me every day
constantly reminding me
she is here to stay

With twitches and cramping
aching and pain
heaviness, weakness
& a foggy brain

Stiffness & trembles
Tender skin too
exhaustion & rib pain
but that’s nothing new

It’s just my Fibro friend
keeping me alert
reminding me constantly
my life has turned to dirt

Oh for the Love of Fibro
wish she’d go away
she’s so damn clingy
& Aint no friend today....

Sentimentality

Most curious
duality ... this
Sentimentality

Excessive tenderness,
sadness, nostalgia
corrupting modality,
distorting reality's
social edifice

Brain-cramping
contortion,
fierce pressure
building,
Sentimentality
wielding an
assault on
humanity!

Liars lie with
impunity
Childhood
lessons lost
Darkness
perverting civility

Root of irrational passions,
misplaced idealism—
This insidious,
ever-swelling
tsunami of
Sentimentality
