Hive Harmony
A Queen Bee who thinks sex is funny
Enjoyed making love like a bunny
But after some flack
She's flat on her back
Yet welcomes all comers with, "Honey!"...

Lame
Is he lame who struggles,
stutters, stammers to be understood?
who challenges all-comers
with a strength beyond his means
to beat the system for the greater good?
stronger by far than you or I....

Premium Member Nature's Breast
The sunshine climbs up the rooted ladder smelling the midsummer umber sentinels, that stand tunnel watch over later comers shushing the interrupted lull wild that have succumbed to slumber. Scented mumbling of dawn's spiral seraph rose pink of light lumbers.

Summers
Summers, Summers, Summers,
This is somehow heat comers,
Earth is gone hot day-by-day,
Sun is like villain everyday,
& boiling brain everywhere.

The only heroic time is bathing,
i.e. somehow body cooling,
i.e. somehow mind cooling,
& this heroic time is blooming,
So, for enjoying the heroic time,
Please enjoy my Summer's rhyme....

The Tide
We pulled it off
Dusted cleats, victory flag
Brandished on history's ceiling

Raising the tide of moral triumph
Gathered from warming hours of dawn
Hope for health and success

New homes and affluent spirit
Finding our way
Among thorns and battalions

Lions prevail with timeless ascent
New comers to corridors and luminous halls
Ready to grab rightful piece of the action...

Seagull
A red raw gape, a crater of hunger,
the clacking tongue
a buckram spear shaken at all comers.

The gulls mouth is the gull,
its avian body
only a winged engine for that open maw,
a perfect bow for that arrowing beak
with its raucous bugle.

A gullet for a perfected greed;
a throat that yawns wide enough
for any a scavengers scream,
a call allied to the pitiless winds,
and thrashing seas....

Ever Since
dad could roll a cigarette
with just two fingers
and the tip of his tongue
i saw him do this once
in a wind storm

he would shave just close enough
to keep himself grizzled

he could dive into an engine
to wrench a rattle
and make it purr

he was an expert drinker
astounding all-comers

so
ever since
he took a Louisville Slugger
to moms head
the three of us

ma
he
and me
were all astounded...

Family
The circle of personality,
The power of protection,
The need for discipline,
The raising up,
The pushing forward,
The place of struggle,
The fortress of love,
The building of confidence,
The solving of problems,
The will to press on,
The confidence for friends,
The softness of guidance,
The courage to meat lovers,
The acceptance of new comers,
The extension of arms,
The meaning of hugs,
The pressing of love,
The wall of a circle....

Birdsville Sanctuary
My neighbour
wondered where all the birds were going to
"to my yard,"
I replied
the Cockatoos for the green almonds
Blackbirds and Mynas for ground cover insects
Crows bark-scavenging for borers and tree worms
Honeyeaters fighting all comers for flowering red gums pollen
Pigeons fossicking the soil minding their own business
to finish giant Fruit Bats
some say escapees from a botanical gardens cull
add a creepy aura at night....

Premium Member Watermelon-
Wholesome refreshments recharge.
All comers rose water baring
Tropical fruit desert for lunch or dinner snack.
Early strawberries shine watermelon rimes.
Raw fruit laugh.
Much fruit waters run.
Edible fruit shine.
Like fruit shout.
Other refreshments run.
Nectar feeders walk drips down your chin and mouth.

Premium Member Gift Of Leaves
A small cardboard poster,
displayed with Autumn LEAVES
greets all comers at my front DOOR.
It's something new that I've never done BEFORE.

Surely it was God
who ordained the Fall Season,
to be a gift for us to RECEIVE
all the beauty and benefits that it brings.

There's a warm sense of EASE,
when I look upon those Autumn leaves,
falling from the TREES, linking hands
with the cool BREEZE, and finding their
resting place long before the winter FREEZE....

In the Piazza
A sculpture by Cellini*
Stands in Florence in a square.
Since 1554 you can find
Perseus still there.

He holds Medusa's head aloft
Triumphantly to show
All comers of his deed,
The head the proof they'd need to know.

Commissioned by a duke, Cellini
Worked for nine long years,
Resulting in a masterpiece
As great as it appears.

How magical to gaze at something
Made in ancient times.
No words can quite convey that feeling;
Neither can my rhymes.

*Benvenuto Cellini...
