Who says
Our brains
Ever stop growing
Who says we haven’t
Colonized a thousand worlds
Yet they keep us here
Like slaves
Oh what a nation
A den of fools
A tribal cage
A religious hell
The dead conscience
The bewitched minds
The colonized culture
The enslaved souls
Oh what a nation
Africa my poor nation
A land of disunity

ears brutally holding metals
men’s clothing colonized
under clothing castrated

crimes against their bodies
The Europeans colonized
middle earth and Africa
as their God given right
America built on the labour
of African slaves
Indigenous killed
murdered, and slaughtered
then laughed at
some of you still live in this world
others though, through the eyes of history
have admitted
if not confessed, the evil deeds
now you see children burned alive
in hospital tents, on purpose
and for that
they are your new enemy
When I've seen all the seven wonders,
And sailed beyond rainbow’s end.
When I’ve crossed the lost horizon
And discover Nirvana, again.
When I’ve conquered El Dorado.
When I reign in Shangri-La.
When I’ve colonized Utopia,
And claim hegemony in Oz.
When I’ve slain these restless demons
That give chase to the sun and the moon,
I’ll be back where I started, a pilgrim come home,
With the bells of Saint Mary’s chiming at noon.
