The Imaginary Life
Does the imagination of death
Inspire our thought of what life can be
As we sail the coattails of memory
Into destiny at the edge of the present...

Persona Non Grata
Persona non grata so I sang beneath a
moonlight sonata.
A ghost-finger touched a quivering semi-tone note,
,your soul con-caved beneath that haunting,
longing, aching spirit!
So persona non grata my coattails in winter
snow!

Surrender
Surrender
Is sinking
Into silence..
Letting go of
That which appears
To grasp our coattails
And clouds the Identity
Of our true Self..
This is not to inquire
Into coattail attachments
But to directly recognize
That in which
We as well as our coattails
Make our stage appearance......

Hold On Tightly Bob and Wheel
Hold on,
don't you dare let me go;
From sunset until dawn
caught in the undertow;
I'm all thawing passion;
Tightly,
paradise is fleeting;
Savor that melt gently
the Sun will be riding
the Moon's coattails quickly;
Don't fall,
I may have a rough bounce;
Playing with that eight ball
a star with a sly pounce,
believe for the long-haul....

Entitled
Ivory tower dweller;
born with a silver spoon
in his mouth.
He's used to riding
the lofty coattails
of his tycoon father
Selfish,
arrogant
and self-centered,
he expects people
in his life to go
the extra mile to keep
his life "comfortable"
When they fall short,
he treats them
like chopped liver.
He's convinced himself
the world owes him
something.

Easter
The soft spoken
weariness of politicians,
their secret hope
the long,
unhappy dream of the fathers
would
stop dead in its tracks,
like homes under siege
encased in decaying dreams.....
permitting a new day to burst forth,
a pseudo resurrection,
one more chance to ride the coattails of
an ever expanding universe.
Easter calls its halt,
a remembrance
that stops the short lived chatter
to contemplate the risen....

Solo Flight
To steal Moon's glow in troughs beneath my feet
as earth recedes and clouds embrace my flight;
a weightlessness and joy become my meat
and angels reach to set the stars alight.
Up here in space one feels
a brother to the wind,
and rides his coattails high
beyond the brightest star.
I rise to sit alone in God's deep lap
and reach to gather stars as I pass by.
I long to plant a kiss on Moon's stiff brow;
to steal Moon's glow in troughs beneath my feet....
