No Words of Late
We had a fight
We're on a break
Our words are tight
No words of late

We used to talk
We're on a break
Our words were chalked
Each day, on slate

We used to laugh
We're on a break
Our words are rough
No words of late...

The deal was made and they tried to welch.
We would have none of that stupidity.
Computer glitch said salesman named Felch.
We chalked that up to incredibility.

Accepted your offer my husband pointed out.
Signed your online agreement yesterday.
Sales manager began to scream and shout.
Hours later we drove our new car away....

Panting Shadow
Dusty Staccato clouds chalked against a blackboard sky
interrupt the glow of a sunny white moon

as the silence of darkness clings to the crickets anthem -
ignoring the chorus of life that holds the stillness hostage.

And the panting shadow
beneath the lonely lamppost light

tugs always,
gently at my grip,
Ever eager,
to lead me anywhere -

but home....

Eternity On the Pavement
Eternity as his message lingers on
A message for the ages now and gone
The words scrawled out on the pavement
To be wondered or savoured as heaven sent

Does it teach us the pace of the world
And what we think or as our faith now held
And Arthur Stace provided Eternity for us
As he chalked out the word on Sydney’s pavements for him enough.

moments in time
           stumato,
from a butterfly mind

 scattered
with unfinished masterpieces
of imagination

 drawings chalked& charcoaled
with tonal modulation
the inner person
 portrayed
face on
    in ambivalence
profiles turned to the light
 display emotional depth
through the genius
 of genuflection

Premium Member Town Children
Town children gather
around in a neighborhood
wide cobblestone street
to take part in a lively
select game of tattered ball.

Children stand and watch;
the pitcher keeps a firm hold,
throwing the tattered
ball, placing it hard right down
the middle of the chalked square.

With broom handle in
both hands, batter swings, striking
the small tattered ball.
With excitement the kids jump,
clapping and cheering, "Run! Run!"

Sheet Tune
there are butterflies under the sea
and fish in the air today
willows wept over the moon
and stars giving
distance away
nothing is
as it seems
come here
let’s discuss
it in bed
where words
lose their shapes
with their spurs
and fingers with lips
run in herds
let us interpret a rose
in the way that an ear
wraps around
and tasting each other
suppose
we speak
from the tongues
of no talk
and stretch out
our skin beyond
these outlines of bodies
we’ve chalked...

Today.
Today I went to live
In a poem chalked of chimes
To taste some reveries in situ
I sought to find in hidden rhyme.

A heart throbbing
With anguished strain
Fire lit by some heated
Embers in the sooty brain.

Piercing with the mind
To observe and let pose
A spider gliding
Gossamer web of its dreams
Framed in a pivoted repose.

A house for habitation
Woven out of itself
Stretched in a triangle
Contemplating for
Other dimension
Beyond rational aims
Of living and dying....
