Ideally, we would flush
what is of little value –

wiser men and women
sending to the sewer
of time, putrid, fecal matter --
a byproduct common
to even the best
of societies...

lately, we elevate them
to higher orifice –...

stress is self made
stress is self inflicted
stress is a byproduct of ones confession
stress is a byproduct of ones confusion
stress amplifies ones inabilities
stress exemplifies ones chaos
stress can only help those with no hope
stress can only hurt those with dreams fulfilled...

Being
Made in
His image
When we do not obey
We perish
The Death of Deaths
Intangible, but
Most things of that Magnitude are

Drawn to the Light
The Eternal Source
Brings you hand in hand with
Pain
Struggle
And, as a byproduct, depth and growth
But, Alas
Pain is temporary, whilst Victory is
Sempiternal
Non-Temporal
Unimaginable
In a flux with The Flux of Flux
Being...

humanity is the byproduct of war we are but animals at our core but as feelings fight release differences decrease we search for peace evolve more for hopes never cease though anxieties increase but hypocrisy tends to ensure humanity is the byproduct of war (Andaree) Mar. 03, 2019 2019 Poetry Marathon Mile 22 Poetry Contest Sponsored by: Mark Toney

Fame
Like a coconut shy
The pedestal an invitation
To find fault
Topple and pillory
Fame the modern obsession
Fifteen minutes in the sun
Now the goal
Not a deserved byproduct
Earned through hard graft
Or god-given talents
Just the limelight
For its own sake
The insane dogged pursuit
Of chasing the dragon
For its addictive temporary high
To find it bites you
And swallows you whole...

Dear Head
You don’t need the deer
Your grandfather’s perk
The skill of his kill
Preserved head of a dead
And wormeaten body
Formaldehyde face
Eyes chilled black
Lips lifeless and knowing their place.

You don’t need a taciturn taxiderm treasure
Pokerface saddled
On a laquered wooden plaque.
You have the byproduct
Of your singular skill,
And each night and day
Slowly,
You gnaw off her head....

Tinted
Straddling the fractured frontier

Dividing two disparate, distant decrees

Tugged from each of my lumbering, limp limbs

Inevitably tumbling into dogmatic belief

For every creed, a byproduct

Of a specific time and place in history

From what we believe as divinity

Inherently tinted by human ingenuity

Forgery for me, to dismiss one or another as sorcery

Yet forcibly, like water, I fill the cup of whoever is holding me...

Premium Member Obscure Oxymoron

Inherently people are prone to pry
Wherever there is more than meets the eye.

Black and white, by patent definition,
Dazzle in latent opposition.
Byproduct of a shady interplay -
Panoply of 50 hues of grey.

The contrast between black and white
Is not as trite as day and night.
In former days they harmonised
On the big screen before our eyes.

Beware of black, beware of white -
Clandestine colours out of sight.

To Produce a Baby On Earth
To produce a baby on earth
cannot be just a biological role
or a pleasurable human project
not a byproduct of sweet love

It is a role to bring up a human
someone with a mission on earth
to build or to bring happiness to all
One whom even birds will honor

But when the duty is mishandled
Surely the parent joyfully reproduces
a monster creature to the world
to destroy, curse and cause sorrows

That is when parenthood is a joke
Yoke around the neck unimaginable...
