heart, it beats
scars, that bleeds
smiles, they're brief
cry, with relief

I held the SPLENDOR baby
In my LAVENDER night gown
The FRAGRANT baby lit up the room
And turned my world around
The BLISS baby WAFTED
A breath across my face
As it WHISPERED A DULCET ELOQUENCE
That only I can trace
It babbled in a way
So we had this understanding
That the sound of TRANQUILITY LILTING
Was all that his little heart was demanding

We decided one day to explore an unknown
Outside weeded playgrounds we'd outgrown

Wearing shorts, no shoes, shirts of cotton
We ventured forward to childhood forgotten

We babbled along by the brook. We hurried
Through orchard grass, running past herds

True abandon. We found God's saving graces
Uttered ours, ate apples, washed our faces

Laying under the spreading evergreen tree
With just smiles, for a while we were free...

A long hard look softens to the touch
life lines   rivers that ebbed and flowed
the midstream upstream fight
has left its nicks and scars
but the brooks that babbled batting lashes
that sent splashes over laugh line rapids 
and pooled in floods of pain
have all eventually
come to swirl
in the curled corners
of an ultimately unerodible smile

Its amazing how much torture your mind can go through
Subjected to loneliness and lies
Yet people abort your ideas and opinions
Knowing your right
But afraid to admit their wrongs
Tired
Yes it hurts but you cant help who you love 
And ride for
The mind and heart is at competition with their issues
But they still arrives and ask
Tired
Blind, babbled, puzzled. ...

No sleep heart racing 
Crying in your sleep

A Poet’s Eye

Do you wonder what a poet sees
Soft moss rocks and twisted trees
A foggy mist, perhaps at dawn
Imagining goes on and on
Perhaps he sees an eerie sight
Where love was lost some lonely night
 Or maybe creatures big and small
Who through the underbrush do crawl
A face, a foot, perhaps a limb
A curse imposed on a wayward him
Is there a stream, a babbled brook
He begs a reader “stop and look”
There’s more than what the eye can see
If you just let your thoughts run free...
