Vulnerable
I feel safe in a rhyme.
With a rhyme you can
Close off a thought,
Tie up loose ends....

Unpicked
My heart ‘s slowly dissolving in the puddle of my tears
My self worth disintegrating in the acid of your tongue
My life falls apart as you pull those loose ends
You watch me slowly unravel...

Premium Member A Sign For Our Times
The wheel of the ship
spinning 'round
out of control, the
captain below deck
spitting vitriol, first
mate and deckhands
at loose ends, no
orders or goal...
all coming undone
beached on a
barren rocky atoll...

An Expansion of a Question
A modicum of triumph.
A moment of no regret.
Is followed in sadness,
And bitter loose ends.
When you don't know whats wrong or whats right.
Why do we even fight?
The weight of the world is oppressing and vile.
Its takes a great deal just to make me smile....

Premium Member Lost In the Motion of Things
You can't stand still for long
when you're lost in the motion of things.

This is the time of year with blue skies,
where wild birds sing.

You're holding on to a dream,
of what the world may bring.

Life has a lot of loose ends,
don't let them tangle your wings!...

So many thoughts run through his head
Branches of rivers seeking a thread

Loose ends never gathered; perforce flung
Far from a disheartened, silent tongue

SAILMAN

Sleeps deep after long care-filled days
Seeing ahead the loose ends
Pulling tighter on the stays

Lets it go when the breeze rises
Gathers all corners till it fills
Loses nothing, no awkward surprises

Unseen, watching, ready
Able to know without knowing
Keeps the course steady...

Premium Member To the Ends of the Earth
Listen to poem:
Loose ends of 'escape-path' threads intertwine
into a monkey fist knot,
gathered up by Earth's sphere.

For a circle has neither start nor end.
All paths taken to dead ends
go on to somewhere else.

At every 'End-of-the-Earth' lies a sign,
beside a turning circle -
No Standing Here, Ever!...

Premium Member Hang On To Loose Ends
death is very clear
                 not like blurred reality
               where snags just appear
           and if strings remain attached
              we can find the puppeteer

Calm Your Frayed Nerves
Calm your frayed nerves, dry beading brow
You’ve reached the end, now time can cease
How we got here, don’t ask me how
Calm your frayed nerves, dry beading brow
Accomplished as much as days would allow
Your loose ends are tied, be at peace
Calm your frayed nerves, dry beading brow
You’ve reached the end, now time can cease...

Premium Member Time and Time Again
Tick-tock, tick-tock, tick-tock.
The hands sweep round the clock.
Now I try to take stock.

It hits me in the face
as more my time does race
from here to other place.

From beginning to end.
This notion my mind bend
as loose ends do offend.

Future and past must meet,
equation to complete.
Ends then tied. All is neat....

Angles and Curves
Eyes are drawn
by a lovely form
I cannot help myself
	I just stare

triangles I see
	full of curves
barely contained
	much too full

ribbons bright
pulled quite tight
so little to hold
	such a heavy load

and gay bows
	knotted tight
with loose ends
	wanting pulled

too little there is
	the job to do
mostly it does fail
	the job to do...

Pesky Loose Ends
If everything were simple it would shape just like a brain,
And I’d take it out and look at it and never feel a pain,
And I’d pity poorer mortals who didn’t care if it were true,
For the clear and simple reasons that explained their shallow view,
And my life would be a pleasure with no pondering to annoy,
For there wouldn’t be a single loose end to tie up......

Loose Ends
Every stroke of my pen
tightens a hold on my heart
every loose end
made one deeper scar
with every line painted
with words so vain
this one moment
has driven me insane
this written question
of how do I find myself
for he has done nothing
but hurt me
and make me long for help
knowing it will never come
I am the weakest will
and here I lay coming undone...

At Year's End
As the year draws to a close
It is time to audit the accounts
And settle debts:
Write the overdue letter,
Fulfill the promise,
Tie up loose ends,
Wipe the slate
Of nagging shoulds.

As the year draws to a close
It is time to audit the accounts
And tally assets:
Revel in life’s abundance,
Gather your blessings,
Step without fear
In the path
Of new adventures....

The Web of Hearts
An intricate mesh of thread
Holds together our hearts like a spiders web.
It started long ago
With a single, fine, white line,
A fragile link of silken twine.
A simple bond of heart and mind
Strands of love carefully intertwined.
We didn't continue to make it strong,
And yes, that's where we went wrong.
Now the loose ends dangle so far apart,
An immeasurable distance heart to heart....

Premium Member Ageing Fabric
Life’s fabric - warp and weft,
We loom both right and left
But in that piece we weave
Some loose ends we do leave
So our cloth prone to fray
As those yarns start to stray
Of our weave we are proud.
Perfection not allowed
For what was grand affair
Now sadly needs repair.
Those ageing yarns break more.
Loose ends appear galore.
The unravelling weave
Signals it's time to leave....

Psst
Whisper soft strokings
Stirring up life tides
Almost like bagpipes
On descantic hillsides
Echoes of losses of
Tempers and friends
Memories lingering
Kneeling to mend that
Tattertorn sweater a
Soul of loose ends
Rising to challenge
Habitual pride
Such is the music
In rhythm and rhyme
Flowing
Forever in time
Pulsation sensations
Enlivened emotions
Awakened and
Ready to rise...

One Borrowed Day
What would you do with one borrowed day
If you knew it was over, if there was a way
Would you say all the things that you know you should say
A day of work or a day of play

What would you do with one borrowed day
Would you sit and cry, would you fight to stay
Tie all the loose ends, waste it away
List all of the debts that you should repay

What would you do with one borrowed day...

On the Hunt
Play time tuning into whats hot
Dress and make up
The evening is full with all outdoors
Going forward teaming up loose ends
Your call to the dance floor
Well with wait
Right picks don't come too often
Dressed to kill looking dead
Wonderful
Smells of the best
Tantalizing in the mix
Slide step
Shake it up
Next move to the table drink
All work and no fun
No not this time
Almost perfect mate stature...

Premium Member Can'T Stand Those Loose Ends
It was two A. M., and I’d not slept.
I had grumbled and groaned, almost wept.
What was torturing me?
Then the truth I did see.
I yelled, “Whoopee” and from my bed leapt.

My old arthritic knees worked just fine;
to the kitchen I made a beeline.
There was one piece of cake,
which for my sweet tooth’s sake
I devoured. Then I slumbered till nine.

Premium Member All Those Loose Ends
With this tear I remember you,
betwixt the moon and morning's dew.

Old photographs taken have cracked and faded,
my roses have crumbled inside the book's pages.

A gift you gave me is wrapped but broken,
In pieces my heart still holds these tokens.

By a thread old love is sewn into me,
Binding my heart with memories.

I often tug at its loose ends,
I'm sewing my heart and hoping it mends.
