Absurd
Absurd figures at night
Arrive when all waves are
Asleep, buds of deep night
Appear along with the
Animate Amazon
Astir in a pink joy
Attended by archers

Call of the Wild
Last night
as the sun went down
I heard the highway call
Distant echoes
soul astir
the leaves not quite yet fall

Last night
that voice cried out again
from places far away
And like before
my feet unsure
—of what my heart will say

(Dreamsleep: July, 2023)...

Deathly Silence
Mind astir in dark shadows, Silence, all asleep, Ears strain for flashes of life, But no, not a beep. Tears roll down my eyes, Unspeakable sorrow drowns words - thoughts face demise. 09/14/17

Whispering Word
Whispering word
Silent in sound
Hushed as a valley
Forest surrounds

Peculiarly present
Once realized
Emblazoning silence
Wandering by

Making a statement
Barely unheard
Leaves in the summer
Faintly astir

Softly it flutters
Gently it lures
“Come”, is the call
Of the whispering word...

A flurry of fists probed his belly
A shot to the jaw, his knees turned to jelly

A pair of hammers to his chest rived it in two
A jolt to his jaw stopped the bout
                                          He was through

Up above angels, all astir and a-twitter
Aghast at man's lot ~ so brief and so bitter...

Astir the divining of earth. The sea is alive and gives birth.
The sand gives a sigh And waves are so high. The beaches all filled up with dearth.
A freak — oh its mock and its girth. The tsunami cursed all its worth.
Some beachcombers die, As rest of them cry. The island deprived of its mirth....

JULY 1969 – Moon landing

There are no wolves
Astir tonight
To chill our fireside man

The wolves are gone
Are northward gone
From a disenchanted land

From where Maid Moon
Who winked at dreams
Has lost her apple eyes

Oh, someone’s plucked
The saucy dish
From out a virgin sky

Her lover’s cool
Bacterial breath
Has blued the Maid’s gold cheeks
	-
And wolves are gone
To howl for her
From woods and mountain peaks...

Obsidian Clouds
A dark sky, still,
Something is astir.
A distant flash of lightning,
Disruption in the air.

No birds are flying
All sheltering in the trees,
The atmosphere oppressive
A feeling of unease.

Waiting for the maelstrom
Clouds obsidian black,
Again the lightning illuminates
The storms oncoming track.

Soon to be upon us
Our excitement tinged with fear
Trees now start to bend,
The thunderstorm is here !...

Ghosts and Goblins all astir.
Dressed up in her mama’s fur.
S’posed to be a burly bear
But there’s a little girl in there.
Mommy and Daddy having fun
With this child that’s only one.
Asking for treats, no tricks in mind.
Loaded with loot of every kind.
Grandmas and grandpas, uncles and aunts
Give this sweet bear anything she wants.
Jack o'lanterns lead to next candy foray.
Who's having more fun on this Halloween day?

On waves I swept from clouds of grey
to make once tranquil bliss astir -
together, we would join the fray -
a tumult tango beckoned her.

Fandango spin upon the seas
where tempests tease a tropic storm.
What once was born a peaceful breeze
now grows in yield - now comes the swarm.

On every churning white-capped wave,
my breath in howling echoes dwell,
then dance ashore and misbehave
where Nature's fates forebode, foretell......

I Swing, I Swing
“Children need poetry too!”

Faster –higher; up and up I go!
Back and forth and to and fro!

The ground beneath my feet a blur.
The wind in my face is all astir!

I am a bird with chain for wings.
Oh! How I love to swing and swing

I kick my feet, I throw my weight
I'm feeling freedom, it feels so great.

I laugh and scream I have such fun
I swing and swing til day is done.

Then in my bed and in my dreams
I swing, I swing -I swing, I swing!...

So subtle
          the undertow;
               guiding
    thoughts that descend
        below awareness-
         Wayward words
               drifting
          within dreams,
               rife with
          random verse…
            then upward,
      rhyming as they soar;
    fresh consciousness astir.
                  Rise-
         inspiration wakes!

Over Color Desert
From the coiffe broken of light

through demolish the tools that
throve mats up for peace
it took the leash by the saw

of course a soul matter,

carry it clearly over the esteem

Or peace insures the earth....

Speaking To You
Because you do not hear my voice
Does not mean i am not spiking to you
The atmosphere only absorbs
The sound as it vanishes in space
You astir in the morning & feel
The scorching rays from the rising sun
And at night the cool rays from the moon & the stars
All are my voices reaching you
In rays from space
They might hurt by day
At night they make you feel cool
All you need do when they hurt, forgive
And when cool, embrace.
I am always spiking to you
The sound only lost in space....

Premium Member The Bell
In silence, time is astir,
Gathering footprints
From the hourglass of life, taking its toll;
Meanwhile, as if in jubilation,
A large church bell speaks,
Publishing the age of another passed soul;
Tallying each strike,
I'm reminded, that life,
Isn't analogous to the timing of eggs;
Whose timer we flip and restart.
Our sand, once through, completes life,
And absents hope to be rid of dregs.

I remember as a child that
This church bell was rang once for each year of life....
