Asterisk
As always they will shine
Afferent archery
As sparkling efferent
Avid constellations
Act, salty and feline
Adulterous winking
Aerobics of nature

Punk You Nation
it seems
to me that
your asterisk

is breathing
or at least
taking a

breath
except
mine is

subjective
to certain
subjects

that are
willing to
subject me

NOW
slowly
breath in

and
out
and

in
and
*

.......out...

Asterisked
I am running
out of daylight and in this
forgotten chasm, soon

I will meet my own
fate to become star-blinded
But I do not mind.

My telluric heart
is going to lose its poor
blindspots of stifling

sobriety by
embracing your ravenskinned,
asterisk lighted nightshade....

Up Your Asterisk
I’m not a fan of censorship
But there should be no risk
When writing of a body part
To use an asterisk.

When not used as a swear-word,
Which might garner a tsk-tsk,
A mention of a tush should not
Require an asterisk.

We’re grown-ups here and therefore
Criticism should be brisk
When chosen words are censored:
Shove it up your asterisk!...

Impromptu
most
folks
have
an asterisk

it usually
looks like
this
*

i've taken
a closer
lick i
mean look

it does
seem to
take on
this shape

butt
it seems to
fluctuate
sensationally

she
always
keeps
hers kept

under
lock and
key not quite
a chastity

belt but a bell
that mentally
rings when my
tongue does

ring
around
the oh so
rosy...

Special
a colon
is cool
and a

semi
colon is
half better

but god
forbid
since

so many
things
are

forbidden
that though
god created

poetry
soup has
overridden

the all
almighty
that though

a woman poet
who gets it
monthly

can't in
a title
use

what is
to be
con

sidered
to be a
special

character
introducing not
the asterisk but

the maybe
hated
period

One Small Zinger
You buy some tickets, make some plans,
Anticipate an outing
But always with an asterisk
For naturally, you’re doubting…

‘Cause life throws curve balls and you can’t
Be looking for straight pitches.
“The best-laid plans,” the saying goes,
Are filled with unknown glitches.

And so you cancel, with a shrug,
The strikeout one small zinger,
As fate delights in pointing
With its well-known fickle finger....

Destiny's Swim
Destiny ran into my room today
"Grandmother, we had such fun
Swimming and playing in the sun"
Her hair a wavy asterisk
Her lips expounding joy
The burnished bronze of her
suntan
The skip in her walk
I relished her swimming pool
fun and her commitment
to laugh
so simply felt
I saw myself in her decades gone
and then I burned her joy in my eyes
and cherished that she came to
me to share her moment's delight...
