To ballet classes, her mother would bring her
Agoraphobia grounded her for a while
But she posed for Playboy with a smile

Premium Member I Am Fear

Confined to my home, night and day, housed like a prisoner for twenty years. My Agoraphobia will never go away. Dark thoughts trigger copious tears, I’m terrified of leaving these walls of gray.

Squirrel Time

You,
celestial climber,
agile acrobat
of the scrub pine.
You,
of the branch,
the thistle-fan grounded
in agoraphobia.
You,
for whom the fig tree
swells purple
with passion,
I would have this
nothing and this
no one which
you "do not" have--
how provident
the world
of the squirrel.

Agoraphobia

The hurt within has a calming effect,
Hidden inside my mind's covert entrance,
I rest with torment, happy to reflect,
On my emotional independence.

'Let's go out' a grim and ghastly sentence,
Tortuous and loud, louder than I thought,
Noise engulfs my ears, silence it is sought.

Agoraphobia

No walls! Naked space
And panic born of openness,
Where we confront love’s dread expanse.

Beware! Terror-place
Of freedom where our hearts undress,
And too much candor kills Romance.

Retreat! Go—retrace
Our trail and trek where fear is less,
And sentiment (old-fashioned) has a chance.

Drinking In the Dark

Drinking in the dark.....

Drinking in the dark,
Though how far I can see,
My mind plays tricks,
Jailed in a tomb of property,
Alcoholism, agoraphobia,
Depression as I wake,
Viscous circle of failures,
My body does ache,
Close minded and selfish,
I can call out myself,
A fool with too many habits,
Quiz fear for my health,
Stressful cries run begging,
As my blood runs free,
I'm asking you a question,
Who would be me.....????

Premium Member Advice

My advice is just go ahead and do it.
Don't be afraid that you might screw
it up. Life is meant to be lived to the hilt,
you know. You don't want to look back
and wish you had tried it. No, that's not
  for you...
What? You say you've been diagnosed
with what? With agoraphobia? Oh, my. I'm
so sorry. Forget everything I just told you.
No, you don't want to cross America on a
train. Of course not. Sometimes I'm such
  a bad friend...

Premium Member Neither Rhyme Nor Reason

To some fears there's neither rhyme nor reason
No remedy or cure, nor age or season

A phone (call for a date) can weigh 1,000 pounds
A weather-beaten house, the haunt of eerie sounds

A request to speak impromptu can the stomach upset
A severe case of butterflies one can get

Some folks suffer from acrophobia
Others tremble at visions of agoraphobia

I once asked a Sage what he feared most to see
He smiled and said, "If God ever stops loving me"
