      cops come in
       crime goes down

      it comes right back
       when cops leave town

      a simple equation
       all kids comprehend

      but not elites ~
       sheepskins in hand

Premium MemberStrayed Sheep

A puzzled fold on a summit stands as though deserted.
Though some seem cool, others look, by uncertainties, girted
Is the shepherd careless or struggling with cares of his own?
Staff and sandals are unseen. None of his features are known.

Grass seems grazed. No streams are found. Some are tired. Some suffer thirst.
With a scare of wolves in sheepskins, the valley seems cursed.
If their herdsman has no courage, why should he take them here?
If he has taken them here to take them home, should he fear?

We're on our own; their inner selves said, Let's hold together.
Times, good or bad, might change. Should we not face every weather?
Grazing horizons are endless. Rivers brim full. Streams flow.
Our hope against hopelessness, like gems among stones, must glow.

Why are some sheep still hiding and resting in lethargy?
Have they, as time passed, lost their imperative energy?
Shouldn't those who decide to commence their pilgrimage wait?
Could they afford to leave their comrades to their mortal fate...?

“ Care about what other people think, and you will always be their prisoner.”

                           ~Philosopher, Lao Tzu~

So dying to be adored!
Empty as dried out lakes.

Oh, how tragic to behold,
The old, being just fakes.

We, especially who have
trouble seeing or hearing.

Do simply not understand,
At the young, stop your jeering!

Take inventory of our time left.
Knock off telling the old to follow.

Cheapness is our great sorrow.
Hiding well what we have learned.

Flashing our bold sheepskins?
They all should be burned!

Have we learned nothing at all?
Deaf ones, prideful, should be scorned.

Younger poets we treat with derision.
As is we were gods, with some royal
circumcision?

No, no. do not ape the crowds.
Sing your song fearlessly, sing it loud.

Never be cheap, a crowd pleaser.
You, afraid to speak truth?
Nothing but life’s greatest teasers!

                        From the Heart

Comes all reality, not reasoned, boring intellectuality.
Banal theorems, dusty old rules, none serve life effectively.

We are human beings with hearts that need tending.
Sensitivity to our blossoming souls need human gardening.

Love is the most potent force for us all.
Not meaningless awards and sheepskins decorating our wall!

Less arrogance, less using others to climb to the top.
No harming others or their property, this all, has to immediately stop!

No, "I count so much more than you!"
As you see this has created a hateful, ignorant, destructive zoo.

From the warmth of our heart is where we must indeed live.
No longer seeking to take, but to without reservation, give!

Swallowed

He swallowed
When he saw she had bitten the forbidden fruit.
He felt hollowed
When he heard her say that its food would indeed suit.
He soon followed
When he thought of living forever without her.
He swallowed
And gazed on Paradise as the Breeze began to stir.

He swallowed
When he saw her naked, the beasts roaring within.
He then borrowed
Green fig leaves but they were clothed in sheepskins.
He then sorrowed
With their excuses receiving curses for their vice.
He swallowed
As they were driven with flaming swords from Paradise.
