I met you in seventh grade
In laughter and games our bond was made.
Through every joy and every tear
You’ve been my rock my friend so dear.
We share our secrets dreams and fears
With you beside me I feel no tears.
In sunny days or skies of gray
Together we’ll face whatever may.
So here’s to us through thick and thin
With every loss and every win.
You’re my best friend it’s plain to see
In this journey of life you’re part of me.
Seventh Grade Craziness

Some days my decisions made me look like a master,
but at some other times I've donned the hat of a dunce.
With my nose in the corner due to some disaster,
I was mistakenly taken for a dunce more than once.
They travel in a weird little pack
None go to the bathroom alone
Lots of giggling in there
We boys are wondering
What are they doing?
Seventh grade dance
They follow
Like sheep
Girls!
With wild exuberance the new boy
Danced his way across the gym floor.
It was the seventh grade dance; no other guys were moving.
They were mostly staring at the pretty girls who were dancing.
He dipped and swayed. Some of the girls turned and clapped.
His essence paraded in tune with the music.
The non-dancers stared at his wild city boy dancing ways.
His confidence outclassed them.
Some were afraid. Most just made fun.
Not understanding the essence of his confidence
He shimmied around them, not seeing them at all.
The girls were impressed. The boys were stunned.
Recognizing talent and confidence when they saw it.
I wear a mask of happiness because it is the only way,
To get me by unnoticed through each horrible day
My sister isn’t here,
My mom and dad don’t care
Too see any pain,
I’ll just stumble and take the blame.
For someone elses actions,
I hide my only fear.
I embrace the world around,
not shed a tear.
I wear a mask of happiness to get me through the day,
Untill I come to school again and see your smiling face.
