elusive-
the futile search
for a better state
for an explanation
better than this~
elusive
seems to capture
the dance of
the searcher~

delving down into the earth
tree roots search for nutrients and water
effortlessly sliding around barriers
supporting the tree’s canopy in the best way she can

He would seek the truth
in our increasingly fascist Western world:
he might as well seek to dig out a needle
from under a mountain of dead dogs.

Our hearts are full of depth
for beyond the ordinary seeing eye
who can reach into such a valley
is the one to hear your faint cry
There is one with an all seeing eye
who knows the human heart so well
nothing is hidden from His eternal sight
so to Him go forth and tell
To this one plead to do a search
so to open up our every thought
check there be no grievous sin
as soul's salvation can't be bought
Cry to be lead everlastingly
in the way through heavens door
this salvation is gifted to the few
believing in Jesus saviour to adore

Last thing I remember was my head hitting the ground
And the aching of my heart pound
My body is getting light, I have wings
I am taking flight
My soul is leaving my body now, I am dead
My murderer is taking his bow
Can you feel the hatred I feel?
I want to be alive, I want to be real
I will seek my revenge till the day my killer dies,
My lover awaits me, alone she cries
Lightening is flashing across the sky,
Telling of my death and wondering why
With these questions you ask,
I cannot help you, for I am dead,
My life is through
I will keep my soul alive, the more he runs
The harder my soul strives
I have shot him down
He will no longer come around
My business is done, I can go
My lover cries, "No!"
I left, I went back to my grave and slept
In peace with nature and everything around me
Now silence everyone
Leave me be

I’ve been soul searching my entire life,
Looking for some meaning and a clue that
I could piece together some kind of philosophy,
But all I’ve found is emptiness.
Everything has crumbled around me like a
sand castle and no one’s there to help repair it.
I’ve lived in shattered independence, but
like a naked child I’m cold and alone.
I feel the judging stares surround me,
analyzing my every action, never
Considering the pain I’ve suffered that
haunts me.
I’m late to find the answer, so I’m
stuck asking the question.

How high the moon in comparison
To the depths in which I sink;
How black the nightfall garrison,
How black the thoughts I think.
In every niche I see her,
Every place I think I spy
Glimpses of something proximate
In peripheral white of the eye.
I seek with fevered staring,
I seek when more sedate,
And all the time comparing
Degrees of love and hate.
The searcher and his tether
Are bound so they are one,
Through endless shifts in weather,
Inclement skies and sun.
On desert plains and highways,
Through anguish and through bliss,
On crooked wasteland byways,
Or cold metropolis.
I microscope my mind,
My bare soul scrutinised,
For scraps of clues to find
Some answers symbolised.
The heart is driven weak
By all it left unsaid,
How long must someone seek
For something known as dead.
Yet search by force of will
Until all hope is gone,
And time is all to kill,
And travel travels on…
