Dear new addition,
Making us five.
So happy you’re my sister
All giggly and alive.
We play and lose hours,
Then share a room to rest.
Your laughter makes me happy
But you say that I’m a pest.
Your words hurt as you get older,
From fun sis to full-time scolder.
Nasty looks toward me each day,
Warning me to get out of your way.
So confused when you attack
And laugh when I receive a smack.
Growing fast and enjoying school,
Your words sting but I’m no fool.
Even as adults with kids of our own,
You live nearby in your don’t visit zone.
I have true friends... wish you were one.
Missing your laugh and childhood fun.
Sister where are you?
So far away.
Perhaps we can talk?
Maybe one day.

Smile at a scolder, pat a heart on the shoulder, another day's boulder to molder, set it to smolder, Here we are, just another day older.
