The history of fiat
Is chock full of breaches
Of centralized power
That pushes and reaches
Debasing our money
The looters and leeches
Gaslighting people
With Keynesian speeches
Where is our money
In fractional banks?
They lend out in bubbles
And give us no thanks
Restricting our freedoms
With raw overreaches
Yes, the history of fiat
Is brimming with breaches
But now we have freedom
From theft and abuse
A better money in Bitcoin
And the power to choose
The central bank must be trusted not to debase the currency, but the history of fiat currencies is full of breaches of that trust. Banks must be trusted to hold our money and transfer it electronically, but they lend it out in waves of credit bubbles with barely a fraction in reserve.

From the crypto crash and the FTX collapse,
We see the fragility of this digital cash.
The arrest of Sam Bankman-Fried,
Makes us question the future, what does it all mean?
Fourteen years since the Satoshi white paper,
Has crypto lived up to its initial promise?
Or has it become just like the banks we scorn,
Unregulated and prone to financial loss?
Many tout the virtues of decentralization,
But with no checks and balances, there's cause for hesitation.
Governments want regulations, that much is clear,
To protect their citizens, to keep the markets fair.
So as we ponder the future of crypto,
We must consider the risks and the pros.
The allure of freedom may be tempting and sweet,
But without proper oversight, it's a risky seat.
The end may not be here just yet,
But the crypto world must learn to play by the rules, you bet.
Only then can we truly see,
The promise of crypto, the future to be.

What is it with Love
That makes me
then breaks me?
When in love
Do I truly love?
Is it really love
Or do I think that I love?
Maybe I just love being in love
Or love the idea of being in love?
I spent my whole life chasing love.
In the end the one thing I truly love
Could just be the meir pursuit of love.
Author's Note: ‘meir’ in hebrew (m’r) means 'that which burns brightly, that which illuminates'.
This poem was Inspired by the viewing of Satoshi Kon's ‘Millenium Actress’
