Lord, give no more than I need,
Just enough my folks to feed,
Nor I need to sleep hungry,
Nor my saintly guests any.

Money is necessary, but more of it may not make one happier. In fact, it might become nuisance in many a ways. So, pray for enough money and no more. How much is enough? This aspect is beautifully brought out to fore in this couplet by Kabeer.

The forest of limitless green,
The spill of red blood,
The rite of sunrise,
White pantaloons to turn away the sun:
An elephant shuffles along
swaying side to side.
He is swathed in red.
The rider sways in his howdah.
His eyes squint at the Asian sun.
Somewhere in the forest
a sadhu is chanting.
Monkeys are silent.
The prince on his calm beast
follows a path much trodden.
The insects swarm
with indifference.

In meditation drowned a sadhu once young
Yellow teethed, skinny with a sharp smell aura
Over night with a thick bristle of grass for cattle
Over week - it's dust and spider's web fora,
Over month - like goose-foot or like nettle.
Inside opens such a nice view to the strong-willed
Where a wave's cutting a ray of bright sunlight.
Where live those who have seen the light in the night
And in empty existence are those killed or who killed,
Where small magic planets with pits
Are moving along its magic orbits.
Well carry on, you freshly shaved account clerk,
Sleep on clean and smell of honey milk, be smart.
Hold on to the flame thrower as strangers stare.
He has a very special place right behind his heart,
One day he'll surely take you there.

Pouring out the golden glow
the full moon of Vesak,
trying to melt in the blooming sky...
Given the courtesy of trees & breeze
Even the birds show their clarity
Reminds the glory of a legendary day
happened the birth, the enlightenment
& the Parinirvana of
the Lord Buddha...
The Vesak full moon...
It is time, it is sign
to collect good deeds
to prove yourself
Pay homage the Triple Gem
renew the Five Shiksha...
Follow the path,
where the Lord Buddha led...
The Buddhism, A philosophy
deep & logical, explains reasons...
All in all, pinched to a quote
"He who lives by the Dhamma,
is protected by the Dhamma"
Sadhu!! Sadhu!! Sadhu!!

An iron trident
Is all I had
As a Sadhu
In a cave by the lake
I worshipped Shiva
And his consorts
As if they were my parents
Sometimes I slept on a rock
By the Sea
Fit for a hermit
My mind was occupied
With worshipping
I forgot myself most of the time
My feet were always
Covered in sand
Until they carried
Me across the river of life
It was the only time
They got clean
And made sense to me
