Running Game Poems | Examples

Premium MemberMy Sisters Need For Alone Time

We travelled beyond the garden hedge
My sister Louise and my playful self
There was a river but it was dried up
She laid down as if she was on a shelf

I wanted to play a running game
But she was meditating in the sun
I ran off, irritated
And it was not that much fun

Why does she meditate?
I asked my mother, as we met.
She is suffering from the loss of Johnny.
He was her favorite pet.

I tried to give her some empathy,
But frankly, I was not in the mood.
Her selected needs for sympathy
Have replaced her needs for joy or food.

Enough

are there words that could ever be said?
words that could actually mean enough?
when light drains quickly into night
was it that I wasn't enough?

will the chance ever come?
trains that pass on parallel tracks
viewing it all through a small square window
will the chance ever return?

do you ever think back?
remembering what we were like
in the very early stages in a long running game
do you ever think back about us?

The Running Game

The Running Game

I must run,
Not to have fun,
But to let my day unfold,
Maybe I can make some fun,
Maybe I can make someone smile,
Maybe I can lend a hand,
Maybe I can make someone glad he is alive,
Maybe I can make someone see their worth,
Maybe I can hold God's hand,
Maybe I can make an indentation on someone's heart.
So they can happily walk on God's footstool.

Not Running Game

You act as if I don’t exist and you still persist
To play games with my heart, so I can’t give you a new start
Cause my heart is aching because it’s full of pain
And if I did that it will not be the same
So I sit and wonder and ask the question why
Did I think that you were the right guy?
But do you really think that I didn’t know what was going on
Brotha you must be stupid, cause you are dead wrong
See, I’m not a dummy but I can act dumb!

You should have figured that out, when I didn’t give you none
I know you didn’t think that I was much smarter than that
Oh I forgot to tell you, that your lines are really whack
I just played along, just to see what you were about
You can ask anybody, boy I do have a lot of clout
Now you’re the one who’s looking like a fool
I know you wished that you would have stayed in school
So the next time you think that you are running game
Just remember me, so the ending won’t be the same
