Ropewalker Poems | Examples

All This and More

bunny heads
and spilled wine on the sofa
Minotaur on fire
and a raspberry doll
a sailboat in a swimming pool
and high foreheads in a park
a mime in a sand mirror
and armed homeless people
blue lips in hands
and Max Ray or Man Ernst?
graffiti in a coffin
and a skyscraper in a bottle
vegetable war
and a black hole in a pear
violin chef
and obese angels in McDonald’s
a paving on a water surface
and an auction sale in a wrong hour
colourless grass
and laughter in times of plague
fashion diarrhea
and a cow in a dance dress
black winter sky
and Cabaret Voltaire forever
dark red absinthe
and a hundred-year-old fisherman on top
murder on a chessboard
and dinosaurs in New York
cosmic mixer
and a smell of lemon fields
amarylis inside out
and a toddler in a sea shell
snow under the bed
and an orchestra at Mount Everest
space shuttle on the beach
and a night under her skirt
a steel ropewalker
and a flea in a golden cage
nice gesture under the reading glass
and a zip on the back door
calm west
and a key to deceased stars
labyrinth of cards
and a 2-D dinner with God (knows who)

all this and more
another time.

With a dangerous disease I had been afflicted
A word went round in terms of cricket tournament
Of good bowler cancer, the player will be balled.
A word went round in terms of unemployment
That there will be one vacancy in the university
A word went round in terms of real estate agency
A good house will be for sale in pose area of the city.
Believe me luckily with Him there was no urgency.

But a word came in from the Greatest Word-Maker
Time is free, priceless, can’t own it but you can use it
Can’t keep it but you can use it like a ropewalker
Act like a Yogi, right the wrongs, give up tobacco habits.

Keeping Him always with me I followed those words
And the ancient adage “Drink thy own water with glee”
Along with medicines, home remedies and the herbs
Diagnosed in 9th April’94, on 10th Dec'94 cancer free.

In my entire life that was the day of utmost glee
That was in 1994 and here I’m in 2013 as a family tree.
