System Changes

Which system is better?
I do believe in none.
If man can't think better,
We would all pay the price.
Is Capitalism wrong?
Then which one is your right?

Oh communism is cool,
Free trade is a taboo,
Things belong to a few,
And tyrants can rule,
And anyone who's against,
Finds himself at stake;

Oh socialism is good,
What an utopian boo?
Prepare for low economic growth,
Where entrepreneurship is low,
And business motivation is given
Not just a big blow.

May be fascism is the best,
Where dictators aren't naive,
Devils and demons can
easily win their bets,
And everyone without has
nothing but the less.

Leftists or 'rightists',
I don't really care,
Marxist or Nacists,
Don't mean so much to me,
If humans do not change,
System changes are void.

Manuel's Beach Prose Poem

It is hard to walk in the sand especially with boots and a heavy rifle.
Manuel and I would sit on a rock and watch the moon give birth to
a distant blue Africa.
Franco's Guardia Civil were not all thugs. A few were poets.
Manuel's father had worshiped the general and had blessed
the day Guernica 'that Marxist nest' had been flattened.
That was decades before he was born, yet Manuel still patrolled
the beach, weaving between sunbathing tourist seeking nonexistent saboteurs.

On his rounds the young conscript fell in love - often, but in winter
(when his sneering corporal was away), he would sit in the bar,
tongue curled like a snail shell, dedicating lurid hyperbole
to every female foreigner that had smiled at him, and to all
the Catalan girls that never did.

That night the moon seemed to translate for us.
He asked me earnestly:
if I thought Franco would ever lift the ban on bikini's?
"Never!" I replied, "The Pope and the Rightists are against it."

Manuel rose and shuffled sadly away, his rifle dragging on the sand.
That night the moon came close, to bask on Manuel’s beach,
and she without a stitch of cloud-cover over her matronly form.

Premium MemberRant Against the Left and Rant Against the Right

I listen to the Leftists
I listen to the Rightists
They are not among the brightest.

The Leftists want a $15 minimum wage, a guaranteed job
For every wage-earner in the US, be he gentleman or slob.
They want free health insurance, free college tuition
They haven't the slightest economic intuition.

With all that guaranteed government stuff
Mr. and Mrs. Taxpayer will have it exceedingly rough.

Though the federal tax form itself will be razor-thin:
How much do you make? -- Send it all in!

Of course, those on the Right are not a whit better
When it comes to the President's outrages, they're aides and abettors
His insults, his outright lies, they dismiss as 'inconsequential'--
As long as stock and bond market gains remain monumental

After much consideration and not inconsiderable thought
I've reached a conclusion, one that's dearly bought:
A Pox on the Left and a Pox on the Right --
I'll not purchase a house; I'll not be a renter
I'll just pitch my tent smack dab in the Center

What say
All they?
The Anti-stay
Got their way

Leavers perplexed?!
Remain vexed!?
GB soon Brexed!!
Economy hexed??

What say
All they?
About rights, fair play,
Trading, minimum pay?

Social Justice…
Can we trust this?
Or hidden ‘Rightists’
Just like ‘Thatcherists’?

Bobby Jindal
Appeases christian rightists unlike William Tyndall.
Thinks Presidential aspirations a plus
To bring budget woes to US.

Mercy Killing

At the turn of the time at nine last night
Sprawled swimming still with the tide
The wheel against her will in her on pool

The doctor masked with eclecticism of electricity
As Mercy laboured last breath for mechanized exit

Mercy was not killed, it was mercy killing

To spare the tree, spoil the fruits
As advocated so legislated
The doctrine of rightists and leftists

At the top of the hour at nine in the night
Flushed, flowing free down the drain
The flight against her right

The doctor pointed patron’s panacea
For Mercy missed first breath for calculated death

Mercy was not killed, it was mercy killing

To seize the clog, severe the cord
As directed so acted
The song of activists and their likes

Well was it mercy killing
When Mercies were killed
At nine last night?
