To head rhymes or alliterate,
to find a word for its mate,
perhaps a rhyme to please the eye,
peut'etre French,I'll give a try;
Then vary it with a rime riche
and harmonize to find a niche;
One of the identical kind ?
internal ryhme is on my mind,
slang or,royal for this rhymist
perhaps a trophy emoji,if I persist !

I Am Rhyme
by M. Griswold
07172022
A Rhymist I am, I will not deny.
If I didn't write, I surely would die.
It seems no other form can construe.
Rhymes flow out of me as if on cue.
I’ve tried to compose in other forms.
Yet, the lines never fully conforms.
I fight to write the right words to know.
Those metered lines that are hard to flow.
But I must admit, I'm no good at it.
All those other forms of poetry writ.
So, I return to that which flows free.
God's special lil' gift, given to me.

It was quite a time
when with my mind you used to rhyme
and in the tune of my heart you sign.
That time was quite long
when I thought the words to me belong
and I could compose a million song.
It was such a feel!
to bare my soul to words with great zeal
put my Self in words, nothing to conceal.
A thrill beyond words!
when you believe you can capture worlds
and raise the sharpest of them as swords.
You stand on your own empire
as every poet in you quenches a fire
and for avid readers, a pleasure not to expire.
Dare I now raise my pen?
till a voice grumbles into my den!
do I have to ride those paths again?
Dare I, the very words blame?
not to have met the poet's flame!
or, the rhymist having a solo aim
shaping verses into a frame
and their intense fire tame!
The words when denied their vent
an ink of a common bent
a rose of a predictable scent
a music of no content
a love of no intent.

I'm not in the military
Nor do I fight mystic fairy's
I have a heart.
I love to impart...
I humbly ask myself am I a... bard
literary words
Love sonnets, songs served
I want to hear the words... ballad-monger, troubadour
My love for you all the words;
I have a heart.
I love to impart...
I humbly ask myself am I a bard
Sometimes I'm a rhymester, rhymer, sonneteer, lyricist
Versifier verse-maker, heart fixer or just a poet
let me romantically write for thee
bards a poet, reciting epic love and warring conviction be
Associated with a particular oral tradition
Could I envision
I have a heart.
I love to impart...
I humbly ask myself am I ...a bard
Lyrist elegist, I love those love songs dear
Just a swan
Rhymist maker metrics within a song
I find it hard
Being called idyllist Parnassian poeticule
When in myself I'm found if odd, Alleluia
I am a bard?
I have a heart.
I love to impart...
I humbly ask myself am I ...a bard
