AMERICA, THE CENTER DID NOT HOLD

The center, woe the center
Are we surprised it did not hold
Not even in America
And if the truth be told

When the two twin towers toppled
We were stunned aggrieved and hurt
Long gone the days of minute men
No one to sound a swift alert

With eyes wide open still so blind
We failed to recognize
How much 'covid' would reek havoc
Right before our very eyes

Relentless in its progress
Devastating all it touched
No army couldn't stop it
Even if one bothered much

Still we dallied on so docile
Till an enemy within
Ripped and ravaged through the White house
Bent on murder and revenge

Men compliant and acceptant
Eyes fixed on money, power, fame
No thought for country, without conscious
Doubly dying, soil their name.

Ziguezague

Zigue e Zague

O caminho para o topo
nem sempre
é uma linha reta.
às vezes,
é zigue
e zague.

Nos momentos
do Zigue e Zague
só palavras nos faz
encontrar a grandeza
de fazer hoje e sempre
mais e mais.

Linha

Linha

Desde sempre
o sucesso,
isso a que damos
o nome de sucesso,
como todas
as coisas deste mundo,
não conhece a linha reta.

Para chegar ao sucesso
pense em conhecer pessoas.
o que é que fazem bem,
o que gostam de fazer,
o que elas precisam
obter das suas ocupações.

Se lembre que até
Rimbaud
Antes de ser
traficante de café
armas e marfim na África,
foi poeta em Paris.

Sentimento

Sentimentos

As emoções,
na vida ou nos negócios
nunca viajem em linha reta.

Nossos sentimentos
As emoções
escorrem por rachaduras e fendas,
buscando os bolsões de carência e negligência,
geralmente
escondidas da vista do público.

Zigue e Zague

O caminho que te leva ao topo
nem sempre é uma linha reta.
às vezes,
é zigue

São nos momentos do Zigue e Zague
que só palavras podem nos proteger
só palavras podem nos levar
a descobrir dons
que nunca soubemos
que tínhamos.

nos faz encontrar a grandeza
que está dentro de cada um de nós.

Premium MemberHeaven

'O HEAVEN, of my Father,'
Eternal and limitless you be;
So full of light, no less your might
And host to all eternity.

A holy, hallowed province,
And so has ever been.
Nothing corrupt; not human flesh
Has ever interred in.

So how to speak of 'everlasting,'
I feel that no one here can know.
To get a truthful understanding,
You really have to go.

Premium MemberDeath Is Due An Insult

Death is due an insult
In fact, it's way past due
Born out of sin, no next of kin,
No love for life, no reason to.

No positive occupation,
To me it's pretty clear
He goes about with lip stuck out
His business is to interfere

With life and all it's blessing.
He doesn't think it's odd
That no one wants him hanging round.
He needs a better job.

Premium MemberMy Knees Don'T Like Me

My knees don't like me very much
Right now I don't like them.
They use to be much friendlier
When I stayed fit and trim.

You don't give up on friends because
They've maybe gained some weight
But mercy me , if I was a three
They'd take me on a date.

I want them to remember
To think real long and hard
Replacement's in the future
So I'd not go overboard.

Premium MemberJust Stick It To Me, Please

Wednesday night, hard at work
We strove to get the paper out;
Our goal to met the deadline
And secure the daily routes.

But then an accident occurred,
A case of slice and dice and dread.
A finger slipped, now padded tip
Was hanging by a thread.

Unable to stop the flow of blood,
The victim quite distressed
We opted for the ER
All hoping for the best.

And luckily the doc on call
Was ready to perform.
"The bark is worst than the bite,
The blood worst than the harm.

He raised two hands, t'was plain to see
To him it didn't matter.
"Stitches or glue, it's up to you."
All eyes lent toward the latter.

A questioning smile to prompt my choice
Which all but put me at my ease.
I shook my head and closed my eyes
"Just stick it to me, please."

A true, if colorful presentation

Premium MemberIn Search of Love

In search of love, through shadow gone
Caught 'up', then faraway
Cross galaxies, losing no time
On worlds eons away

Blazing a trail no meteor
Could ever hope to match
Pass through the timeless doors of om
That never knew a latch,

Outdistancing the speed of light
My thoughts were never seared
By all the suns I bounced upon
Through millions of our earthly years.

Then resting on a mountain top
By darkness never touched
I recognized a still small voice
The one I'd longed for oh so much;

Then that is when my only love
Revealed Himself to me
And welcomed me into His world
For all eternity.

Premium MemberThe Dress

They searched and searched
To find the rest
Of Mrs. Jello's
Daring dress.

Most eyes were glued
Right at the spot
Where Mrs. Jello's
Dress was not.

While contemplating
More or less
"Is dress intact?
Or "Not a dress."

I feel that 'all'
The dress was there
The distribution
Seemed unfair

With so much gathered
Down below
And less the farther
UP you go.

The whole affair
We'll put to rest
The casualty
Mrs. Jello's dress.

Estrada Reta

O Progresso é uma estrada reta

Não há atalhos
Ninguém liga ou desliga
como uma torneira
ou acelera
numa “milha extra”...

Faça sempre
um pouco a mais
o tempo todo
se doe,
crie...

Crie e ande
pela estrada reta e livre
e chegue aonde quiser
mais rápido.

Não existe atalho
o progresso
é uma estrada reta
em todos os sentidos

Muito poucas pessoas
chegam a lugar algum
tomando atalhos.
