It's seven weeks now into my recovery,
too much couch time and lots of tv..
I stopped my subscription to CNN, no longer
in need of a biased news trend..
My local news channels have kept me in touch,
with the weather, crimes, and opiates too much..
I discovered the World Channel is just what I need,
a global perspective with the most balanced feed..
Penn State offers this broadcast for free and it
comes with wonderful educational documentaries to see..
I love learning about people and cultures I'll never see, on
our wonderful planet with such diversity.
Their journeys, their struggles, their resiliency,
restores my faith in humanity..

Express yourselves unabashedly my friends
Because no one can honestly give you a grade
Write your poems with your own hands
Make them natural, beautiful and homemade.
Don’t worry about foes, faux, aliens and others
Just do what you need to do my friends
To find good, fair, impartial or sagacious readers
Be creative or innovative to embark on your own trends.
All poems are important, relevant and famous
All poems are born from a particular or divine inspiration
Be bold, brave, controversial, generous and ingenuous.
Bias exists even in literary art poetry. Ignore the laughs
Continue writing. This world is full of odds, hurdles and gaffes
Be happy! It’s needless to yearn for a standing ovation.
P.S. This poem is dedicated to my friend, Juan Felix Of Orlando and others.
Juan, I wish you a speedy recovery. You're in my thoughts, prayers and poems.

Resiliency, a trait so strong and true,
A force that helps us weather every storm,
And keeps us steadfast, no matter what we do,
With fortitude that helps our hearts transform.
In times of strife, when life seems bleak and hard,
When everything we know is upside down,
It's resiliency that helps us guard
Against despair, and keeps us on solid ground.
It's the power that we find deep inside,
When all else seems to fail us and let us down,
And it's the strength that helps us to abide,
And rise again, when we've been knocked to the ground.
So let us strive to cultivate this trait,
And be resilient, no matter our fate.

Poets, do not give up
Whatever you write
Whatever you spit out
A genius will be up
To it somewhere. Someone
Will understand the tone
Of your voice, the hieroglyph
Of your thoughts, the myth
Of your vision and the dactyl of your wit
Someone will be up to it. The perennial spirit
Of your global view is astounding
Although few comprehend your writing
And the mechanical process of your brain
No need to call a surrealist surgeon
Everything is absolutely normal
Only the Poets fully comprehend
The intricacies of the supernatural
Being, who is not afraid to make a stand
Poets, do not give up
You see things from top
To bottom and from the wrong-side-up
There’s no need to bring a novel map
An updated or an archaic GPS
Many Poets fully comprehend the methodized mess.
P.S. In the memory of all Poets...

Keep your mouth shut. Count to ten and when your done start over again.
It only goes south in the end.
People will disappoint you time after time. Do you want some cheese with that whine?
It only goes south in the end.
Try to process. Get some rest and then put your resiliency to the test but it
will probably go south in the end.
Seek out kindness, search for the good, avoid those places where your misunderstood.
It might not go south in the end.
