Premium Member Where It Hurts

it's not so much that you hurt me
I've been hurt before
it's not so much that you made me cry
yea, done that too.
"to err is human" I'm told; it's true
So, that's not it
No

"What is it, then?" you ask. "Why is this such a big deal?"

It's a big deal because...
you hit me where it hurts.
I can take new wounds well enough
but that wound?
that one doesn't heal
it festers; it bleeds,
and I try to protect it
because it goes right down to my heart
It's a dangerous wound, you see
and YOU?
well, you hit me where it hurts...

You...hit me...where...it....hurts
and worst of all
you just walked away
leaving me to rebandage, rebandage...rebandage

and hope

and pray

the wound isn't

Fatal
