Venal Treacle

Eat
this
red
fruit
my
dear
Eve.
It
discerns
‘tween
good
and
evil~
surely
you can
come to
believe
nothing
bad in this
primeval.
And so...
naked Eve
the charm
naive, took
the bite, which
caused Eden
upheaval. The
real lesson she did
receive, from slithering
snake’s venal treacle...
was what it felt
like to bereave
and what it
looks
like to
be
dec
e i
t f
u l.
