Chicken Tenders

I read, "Chicken tenders wanted,"
"Experience with ranch will help!"
This I was sure, must be ordained
That's what I eat them with myself!

As soon as I walked through that door
The smell hit, like a sack of rocks
Feathers were flying everywhere
She said, "Remove your shoes and socks"

I asked, "Why, where are the tenders"
She said, "You are the chicken tender!"
Then one pecked me on the ankle
And I yelled out, "I surrender!"

She said, "Quick grab it!" so I did
Hopping to improve my chances
We were both flopping and flapping
Like two demented chicken dancers

To much, too soon, too confusing
To me, it all seemed too complex
She said, "You'll have to roll with it"
You'll never guess what I did next!
