Retirement Paradox
sleeping in at will
languishing in the new thrill
no jobs to fulfill
take a peaceful walk
listen to birds tweet or hawk
call a friend to talk
retirement is fun
working is dismissed and done
rewards have begun
yet there are those times
of flashbacks to former days
working long and hard
missing the team-work
in reaching a common goal
pride shared when it's done
but this was my past
and good memories will do
reap now the rewards
