Another Lady of Shallot
I once came across a poem
It reminded me of my own mayhem
Not only love was its anthem
But it had loneliness as its other gem
It was about a lady, who died in her maze
A maze made of magic and containing a curse
While reading about her, my own blood did rush
Why, it would seem that for love and loneliness my entire name did gush
Well, well, would it not be best to live and not make any fuss?
I do live as did the great Lady of Shallot
To my own stand, I have tied the knot
So much that my entire life seems to be a complot
A divine one, why for my bad deeds, I am sure the Lord is all put
Once full of love, I now shine in solo
The side I show to the world is the one so smiling
The side I show to the world seems to be thrilling
Lost in needless dreaming, my real side can be killing
For it made of more than many a woe
I shall ride my boat
And allow my pride to gloat
Of course, hidden inside my coat
Would be my heart, as frail as a child in its cot
Of course, my curse I would wait on
For a curse it may be, but a blessing as well
Who can ascertain that he can foretell
Whether life shall give me hell, or whether it shall give me a bell
To ring and announce that I am but the eternal one!
A modern Shallot lady, made of whims
I shall recount to you in writing, my dreams
As long as my art shall follow its many streams
Why as long as my heart does give out silent screams
My curse is known only to my soul
Shall you once or twice do hear my voice
Know that I have every reason to rejoice
For I myself have thrown the dice
And the heavens did hear my call!
