Agony of Eurovision-Eurovision Past, Present, Future Poetry Contest

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Can anyone tell me why does Eurovision exist? The show’s absolute rubbish, but some say it just can’t be missed. The acts are so bad, they’re simply vexing. Makes me wonder, “Why is the show still on the air?” Perhaps it’s time to give the show a long overdue axing? Thirty-seven songs this year; performers all wailed the same, None of them were remotely good, Yet, I sat glued to my television and watched in pain. Embarrassing it is, to hear those warbled words, I worry, in case visiting aliens, singers strangled singing heard. This year there were gormless transvestites, so ugly, they looked a frightful mess, But I sat transfixed and watched it, I don’t know why, I confess. Maybe I’m hoping just one act will be good, But few have been since 1956. So, I don’t see why I expect that they ever should. This year’s winner, was Nemo, a Swiss binary who ‘sang’ “The Code,” bewailing his journey to nongender identity, an operatic ode. Eurovision contest is loved for its naffness, but for me watching it was sheer torture, couldn’t quite stomach the brashness and crassness. Would rather watch reruns of “The Gong Show.” So hear me loud and clear, “Next year I vow Eurovision will no longer in our home be allowed.”
