Letter to Ocean

Written: April 16, 2024 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ She slowly releases her pen and descends, Tucking neatly inside her purse, my friend. Once cherished, a letter is now stained and worn, She clutched it tightly and felt her heart forlorn. In a moment of anguish, she cast the letter away, and I watched it soar into the air—in disarray.  It landed in a vast sea, and it gracefully flew, A salute to words and a farewell to pursue. The weight of emotions is too heavy to bear, She released them, akin to birds, into salty air.  With a flick of her wrist, she let them be free, A letter has now vanished forever into the sea. She whispered, "Avid thinking," as she spoke, In hushed tones, her longing words awoke.  A dreamer hope, a wish held dear,  Whispered gently, for only hearts to hear. The enigmatic sea, with its ways, is so deep, With varied forms, it sank into a steep. Crumpled paper unfolded in chilly waves, Ink-blue muse mingled and swirled as raves.  They danced in waves, rising and falling,  carried deep into the sea—their heart enthralling.  Over the scarlet horizon, twinkly and bright,  dawn and dusk were a breathtaking sight. Guided by tides—they found their way, back to shore, where they longed to stay. Once again, she ventured to the shore,  a year since she had been here before.  And there, among grains of sand, A precious seashell yearns to be in hand. A beauty, unmatched, a gem so precious, A soft murmur—a hidden truth—impresses us.  She held it near her ear and pressed, To hear words longed to confess.  Ocean's voice, carried by the tide,  Whispered gently, as if to confide.  Her heart danced as she listened well, The seashell had a tale to tell. A year had passed—the seashore remained, And in that moment, her soul regained.  In that seashell—the memory was kept, She found a treasure as she silently wept.  The Echo of her words—is forever preserved, In the seashell's embrace, she swerved.
