The Respect Pact
We believe that respect is the foundation of every meaningful relationship, community, and conversation. This pact is our shared commitment to uphold values that foster trust, empathy, and inclusion.
1. Value Every Voice
- Listen actively and without interruption.
- Encourage diverse perspectives and honor different experiences.
- Speak with honesty, but always with kindness.
2. Practice Empathy
- Seek to understand before being understood.
- Respond with compassion, especially in moments of disagreement.
- Assume good intentions and clarify misunderstandings respectfully.
3. Honor Boundaries
- Respect personal space, time, and emotional limits.
- Ask before sharing someone else’s story or information.
- Accept “no” as a complete answer.
4. Foster Inclusion
- Welcome others without judgment or exclusion.
- Challenge bias and discrimination when it arises.
- Celebrate differences as strengths.
5. Be Accountable
- Own your actions and words.
- Apologize sincerely when harm is caused.
- Commit to growth and learning from mistakes.
6. Support a Safe Environment
- Speak up against bullying, harassment, or disrespect.
- Protect the dignity of others in public and private.
- Create space for healing and reconciliation.
Our Pledge
