Stop waiting for the world to love you, for it never owed you that

Stop waiting for the world to love you, for it never owed you that,
Do you think you'll feel worthy if you win, accumulate, and prove enough?
That shame will vanish one morning, that the mirror will smile instead of frown?
Let me tell you something true: you're chasing ghosts with heavy chains on your ankles,
We're taught that achievement is the antidote to insecurity, that love is earned, and peace is a prize,
But that's the lie, the trap in which you tighten the noose yourself,
Fear doesn't come screaming; it whispers softly: "You can't rest yet,"
And it straps shame to your back like bricks in an endless flood,
You toil, you struggle, hoping that one day the burden will fall, but it never does,
Because that weight isn't your circumstances; it's your beliefs,
Love was never outside, peace was never a reward,
They were decisions you had the right to make, but fear convinced you otherwise,
You are not your trauma, you are not your failure, you are not the story fear wrote for you,
What do you do now? Choose love, even if everything around you screams not to,
Choose to speak gently to yourself in the dark, to forgive yourself,
Choose presence over perfection, connection over control,
You don't need another mountain to conquer, but to sit and look within,
To unlock the prison you built from your own shame,
Because no achievement, no applause, no love from others will mean anything,
If you don't know how to give it to yourself first,
The next move is yours; will you keep chasing peace, or will you become it?
