The Ballad of Daniel Osborne
Daniel had an old guitar...
That he could never play
It sat stood in it's stand...
Until he took it out one day
And Daniel never taught himself...
How to play that old guitar
He never thought one day, that he would learn to play...
To be an Rock-N-Roll music star
Daniel never held a note...
He never knew what he could bring
Until one day, when he used his voice...
Man, that dude can sing
And Daniel had an old snare drum...
So he bought himelf a drum set seat
Then he learned how to twirl them sticks around...
Man, he learned how to beat that beat
Daniel was a music man...
Held back for many years
When ever I would watch him play...
He would bring my soul to tears
His deep down voice would lure me in...
When he sung Johnny Cash
And the way he taught himself to harmonize...
Be just like Graham Nash
Daniel bought an old mouth harp...
That he could ill afford
He taught himself how to play harmonica...
He learned how to hold that chord
Then Daniel bought an old tambourine...
And he learned how to rattle it well
When you watched him play all those instruments...
Baby, you can really tell...
That Daniel was a music man...
Held back for many years
And whenever you would watch him play...
He would bring your soul to tears
His deep down voice would lure you in...
When he sung Johnny Cash
And the way he would try to harmonize...
Be just like Graham Nash
*In dedication to my very dear friend Daniel Osborne. (aka DanO)
DanO never made it to stardom, he was 61 years old when he started to play and sing. He got good enough to hold his own in a local band for 2 years before he sadly passed away from cancer. Although he never made it to stardom, he was a shining star in the eyes of his friends and family.
