Torquay at last
2025.4.18
Easter Friday, a public holiday,
All the shops was closed so as M Cenyralhere ,
There was no piano.
It was fine by me,
I just had to find an alternative.
Yes, I was going to this place,
My first trip of this year,
With beautiful trees line of pines along the shore.
I came here many times before.
Yes, I went pass Geelong,
Visited and sat at my favourite spot.
At first, the sky was bright
With scattering clouds drifted by.
I then realised, the wind would change,
From north-westly to southely,
By 1pm at Torquay.
I quickly packed and headed toward the bus stop.
I made it not only to the bus shelter on time,
But also be able to complete and post my short story four.
I was so grateful for all things
I was still able to do and enjoy them.
Finally, I arrived at Torquay.
Same beach with fond memory.
I was here in 2022,
I leisurely walked to the next bus stop.
There sat a small status young woman,
She tugged herself and sat
At the corner of the bus shelter.
A plastic carrying placed beside her,
It looked heavy and drippy.
Her hair was wet so as her travel bags.
I approached the bench, since then,
We became two good travel friends.
She was beautiful in every way,
Two big eyes on her sweet face,
What even nicer was her rosy lips.
Which moved as she talked.
I learnt she was part of a choir of her church.
Every time, we were on a day trip,
To Lake Entrance or Sorrento Back Beach,
Phillip Island Cowes or Twelve Apostles and London Bridge,
We ventured to Point Nepean and Warnambool,
On each trip, she would sing lots of songs,
She did not know I play music,
She loved to share her singing with heart-felt lyrics.
We are still friends but she has new responsibity,
Looking after her mother who is frail
And near centenarian.
I will wait, till she is ready.
Then together we shall travel again.
I pray, I will still be fit then.
Two hours later, after a splash, two or three,
I left Torquay.
I do not know when I will be back.ù
I decided to find that stop, where we first met,
More than three years ago.
It was hard to find, but I determine to do it.
Once I located it, the name of the street,
Happened to be the translation of my name.
I headed home now, all the fun at the beaches,
Worthed to be part of them.
It was faith, let us met and be friends,
I believe we will travel together again.
I was back at Geelong.
Since I never be there in the afternoon,
I plan to soak up the golden sun,
Enjoy the new atmosphere,
Of the same environment.
