Today I Live and Write
Today I live and think,
Of all that could have been.
A whiskey I may drink,
To drown what I have seen.
Greatness is what I seek,
Yet despair is what I’ve seen.
Hope is heavy, silent and sleek,
Yet this burden is my sin.
I choose this path to stick,
Worth it all, if I can win.
Today I live and write,
Full of love, yet sometimes despise.
Let these words become my light,
A little rhyme, a touch of spice.
Let me get my story right—
The mask I wear, the truth I disguise.
I pray my future will be bright,
Tossing dreams like gambler’s dice.
To turn my wrongs into right,
A bitter blend of pain and vice.
Time may test my soul and sight,
But endurance still feels nice.
So I give my all for this fight.
With patience, I’ll wait the storm—
In time, I’ll find my way.
To darkness I will not conform,
For nothing forever will stay.
Even when pain becomes the norm,
I shall have the final say.
