Adios Juanita

You told me there would be no other,
and I would be your only lover,
together our two hearts would always beat as one.

But those damn tours kept getting longer,
while your desires kept getting stronger,
till they exploded like a bullet from a gun.

Your shattered promises ripped the seams,
of my innocent and sacred dreams,
and all those vows we once made are now dead and gone.

All those words our love had once spoken,
mean nothing now that they’ve been broken,
you can’t step back across that line once it’s been drawn.

Felt like my heart had cracked and shattered,
and there was nothing left that mattered,
all those demons tried to convince me life was gone.

The gun was cocked, and I was ready,
but I could not hold my hand steady,
that’s when I realized that life must still go on.

The hardest thing that I’ve had to do,
was to face that unforgiving truth,
it’s time for me to start my life over again.

Dark days bled to brighter tomorrows,
now I have overcome the sorrows,
and silenced all the voices I had held within.

So, please don’t ask me for forgiveness,
cause as the devil is my witness,
I know that everything you said was just a lie.

Even if I was to believe you,
I am not going to mislead you,
don’t love you enough anymore to even try.

Say adios to me Juanita,
I know now that I do not need ya,
and there will be no more tears falling from my eye.

Because the one thing I know for sure,
as I was walking right out that door,
don’t love you enough anymore to even try.
