FEATHERLESS ANGELS

An angel born of flesh and bone
Left on Earth's face for wings to hone
Of nature's goodness, we were born
To bring others the light of morn

The stain of original sin
May leave some birth marks on our skin
But deep within, a heart of gold
Lurks to alter the mists of mold

We are images of the great one
Who gets to make some good things done
Sometimes we drift, but in our core
We have goodness to lay in store

Even if wings could not be seen
Our feet left marks on grounds they've been
We are all angels, so divine
In heaven's banquet, we'll soon dine

Can't believe it was NA poetry contest
