Young Carers

Tender hands ,soft cheeks ...
setting the table with food, made
by their little hands, caressing the hair
of their mom, while wiping the corners of
the mouth, gently feeding their mom
the delicious food they made out of love.
Giving medicines with utmost care,
wishing every time she becomes healthy
and hoping this could be the last magic pill.
These little angels have the strength
of the mighty mountains and heart
specially made by god, yet...
they worry about the mum, whom they
love more than anything in this world,
that she would not do anything stupid.
Just dont let those wrong thoughts
take us to a dark future, when
there is sunshine and rainbows
awaiting for them.
They are mothers to their own mum,
who in her heart feels immense pain, that
they have caused a huge burden
on her precious child, who should
be running in the parks and eating
sundae with friends.
Nonetheless, the tiny heart knows
the pain of their mother, but wishes
that she realizes , they are very
happy to be doing everything they
can do and she should not ever be guilty.
Angelic heart prays to god every day,
that their mother lives a long healthy
happy life, which they believe will be
reality one day... till then they wish
their mother.. strength, courage and willpower
to be smiling again with them,
sharing the every joyous moments
and seeing them grow .

PS: This poem is the voice of those little angels who look after their parents, who have suffered and suffering health issues. Wrote this poem after getting
inspired from a documentary on these beautiful kids. Hope this poem did
justice to those children. I wish and pray that they see the miracles
they are longing for.
