Take the Bait and run

Daylight breath in my face
like primrose blooming in spring
sending fumes all over the place
and I opened my mouth and gasp for breath

I twist and turn a dozen times
before I could drag myself out of bed
but I made one final leap and toss
the pillow in the street
and break the sleep deficit spell
That was hanging over my head since
President Bush sold the golden bed

Morning suddenly rushed through the door
like mad men smoking weed
on the barren shore, no one
was there except me with a stack
of paper piled up in front of me
and the portraits of history staring at me

I paced around the floor looking
for a solution before I walk through the door
but the remedy was wrapped up in premonition
and baseless prophecy and so I had to
Search for my own remedy

I can get more done with less
and I can get less done with more
and so I finally figure out how to
steer the boat without an engine
for that is what life is about

Take the bait and run before the day is done
Take the bait and run because we are going to have
fun, you set the bait to humiliate me,
and to drag me down from the tree
but I will turn it upside down and spin my body
around and eat it for my daily meal.

Come let me show you something, you see that
mountain over there, that is where I been, I have
traveled the heights and depth of that wall
and you see the tree next to it,
 it is still standing tall

I have flew over that great big ocean,
filled with blood thirsty sharks
that was coming after me when we made
the final splash down in the sea
and I escape it all by climbing the mountain
that has a tunnel that runs beneath ocean floor
and the villagers came and rescue me
and now I am free, I have cleared all my debt
and I don’t have to fret.

my people can go anywhere and they don’t
have to fear for my debts are cleared

Take the bait and run and look straight into the sun
And the symbol will tell you where to run.
