If Only You Knew

I heard the birds sing, soared when the breeze blew
for you, as the sunburst sky flushed your face with hue.
How adorably attractive you were to me you had no clue,
if only you knew.

After drooping dull night dissolved, in your garden I found me,
how sanguinely I sparkled like the pristine pearl of ecstasy,
as patina of your ravishing rose permeated my drop of dew,
if only you knew.

From eternity I borrowed the beguiling time we shared,
like blazing sunset sky my yearning montage in fantasy flared.
How keen I was to discern the day my dream came true,
if only you knew.

In indigo firmament of your eyes my fervor had flown
to the nascent nest I built to become halcyon haven, our own.
How fondly I harbored my memory as storm surge blew,
if only you knew.

The sound of your voice rippled the silence of longing,
filled the void with vibrant melody of my lonely being.
How complete I felt when you made me find me anew,
if only you knew.

When drifting on the trail of melting mirage you left,
like the dry sands of caved-in dune I felt deserted bereft.
How morosely my unsaid words, ‘I need you’, I heard rue,
if only you knew.

When your essence remained within me as a shadow,
fused with the darkness of dungeon of my heart hollow,
how many candles my love had lighted there for you,
if only you knew.
