A Wedding Is Announced
Another celebrity wedding announced,
half a million? Cheap for the price,
magazines like 'Hello' will bid for photos
and help cover the cost, which is nice.
A-listers, B-listers, all lining up
to be seen, from the woodwork appear,
many are people I don't recognise
there to help boost a flagging career.
No expense spared, like anyone cares
since they can't know how Joe Public feels
lining up in their ranks at the local food banks
and struggling to pay for school meals.
Oh, well, what the hell it's for only one day,
perfection is all that's desired,
but when the media don't clamour
marriage isn't all glamour,
reality sets in, they get tired.
No more kiss and make up,
they sell their breakup to the press,
fifteen minutes more fame,
a short time of estrangement,
new partner, engagement, then do it all over again.
