I am not amused

Where did I get these grandma hands?
Yesterday I was sixteen
Driving my first car
A Ford I bought from Joey K
I blew the doors off it

My skin is mottled; I look like a distorted giraffe
One who is limping a little and needs a walker in the winter
When arthritis in his ankles flare up

When did my neck get these unsightly rings?
Yesterday I was nineteen, a newlywed,
A young mother,
Yesterday it was 1972

Time is a cruel trickster
Age is its sidekick
I am not amused
