His affectionate mercy is what mends me entirely

Somewhere in the night, in the fearless night
I do need Your help with Your might honestly
I need Your utmost delight right now tonight
To fight the grandest fight over flight in glee

PTSD is hard to manage sometimes
Scenes of blasphemed sensual thoughts come and go, they come and go
Set me free with Your heavenly times
When You spoke through Jesus Christ and His followers so many years ago

His mercy is what mends me
His mercy is the reason I’m free
His mercy is abundant in glistening grace
His forgiveness is vast like stars in space
Will He forgive me this time for my downfalls and lusts of plenty?
Will He forgive me this time for my abominable sins of youth? To tell you the truth, He wants me to repent honestly
His mercy is what mends me
His mercy is what mends me
It doesn’t offend me, you see?
He sends me delight from on high like the bottomless sea of ecstasy
Don’t drown me with inner vulnerability

I lack dignity today — that’s my only, little plea
I need Your gaily guidance I pray daily endlessly
I lack divinity and fell in love with utter dismay
I so want Your spiritual love to adore me truly

Scenes of blasphemed sensual thoughts come and go, they come and go
Set me free with Your heavenly times

His mercy is what mends me
His mercy is what mends me
It doesn’t offend me, you see?
He sends me delight from on high like the bottomless sea of ecstasy
Don’t drown me with your marvelous misery

I wasted my time at 5 PM and struggled with lust and temptation…
But, I fought through with my strength and I overcame it I devastation
It’s a shame that I couldn’t find happiness when I was younger and I will endure
I’m an older guy now and I am in need of His wisdom — it’s my shameless cure

Don’t drown me with your persistent envy

I resisted the devil…yet I gave in somewhat
But, I won’t give up — let the opportunity door never shut
I sold my soul to the angel of God…
I know I’m crazy as hell and so odd

He sends me delight from on high like the bottomless sea of ecstasy
Don’t drown me with your hopeless hostility

But, His mercy is what heals me
It’s a mending I am in need of
I long for liberty to set me free
From the lonesome Kingdom of lost love

His mercy is what mends me
His mercy is what mends me
It doesn’t offend me, you see?
He sends me delight from on high like the bottomless sea of ecstasy
