Confounding Paradox
Are there exoplanets evolving, terrains for the living?
Living forms upon rivers, microbes drifting in the air?
Do they breathe oxygen, a unique concoction of gen?
Primeval human questions borne out of conceit unveil apprehensive curiosity
Antiquated they must be encapsulated inside the boundaries of mortal frailty
Beings are ephemeral and aged galaxies yield their jewels in a fiery embrace
Breaking then merging with brilliant mystical islands in the vastness of space
Life propitiously ubiquitous weave throughout obscured mazes encompassing
The most confounding paradox is existence and to probing souls enlightening

Revived,
And survived;
Remained alive.
Did come
True one day,
What I was told.
Could be,
I did see,
Was you and me.

Of trouble,
And did tremble.
Happened
Long ago,
I have been told.
Today;
Yesterday,
And tomorrow.
By now,
Would happen,
When we wanted.
Trouble,
And tragic;
Calamity.
I knew
It happened;
Had been in past.
Not now;
Tomorrow;
In the future.
Much;
Maybe more;
Propitiously.

I shared my florid words
about our torrid love
with an ardent lover,
who exclaimed propitiously
that they were astonishing;
then solicitously,
she asked me to elucidate,
how did this prestidigitation occur;
from whence did I extricate
these words of exultation,
these harmonic chords of verbiage,
that resonated so intimately
with her psyche.
When the real question is:
how did they find me?

Once when we were younger
We loved beyond belief;
I pointed you past Pluto wandering while
You helped me turn
A propitiously proverbial new leaf. Free-

From the branches reaching
Skyward, deep-space bound;
When you were there I had no care
If I were sideways, up or down. Landing
Gently in your outstretched arms
As comforting as grass;
Either way, as leaf or lover
Time never seemed to pass. Until
A God-like breath of windy air
Stirred me yesterday
Alighting me you’d moved on;
Now that my veins are turning brown
And summer is long gone.
