Humours turn acrid near
The silent seer.
Escaping absentees scamper
Further down the hole that holds their likeness
Extinguish | fatal obscurant | visions.
| fata obscura |
Of thriving, lively fauna
Prostrate to impelling images
Schizoid prognostic narratives
Told through the burning lens.
Up above somewhere;
Unmade's secret eddies meet the Void's effacing means
Flickery shades mar anthropic soil
Never-beens, vestiges, cloud-faced mutes
Watch, sneer, hiss from interstitial galas
Covet your unearned gift of certain being
All skies slide to promenade our spaces
In front of that greatest-deep mirror
Most cower at the approach.
Croatoan, Boskopoid, Nephilim ires boil, rise
Evaporate.
Thin air marks their omphalos.
Sinews worn down and slumped in buried peat
Undisturbed lighthouses scry
Souls echo Xibalba's memory
Nulled sheets linger over its impossibility.
No divine clap can hide the noise of nothing.
No resplendent scheme can stop time's voyage surely ebbing.
Never will you win in wagers against the real.
Anbirnybbid Ocegenr.

obscurity
Obscurant poems
Complicated word puzzles
Several meanings
Give poetry a bad name
For those who like clarity
Lepidoptera
Do you mean butterfly?
No, caterpillar
Or maybe a swimming style
Something of short duration.
Thank you very much
I shall treasure this always
Your profundity
But I fail to understand
The point of obscurity

“The eternal mirror leads the minds of those who look in it to a knowledge of all things and better than in any other way.” Saint Augustine
Let us scrutinize the pandemic's mirror.
As in lesser and greater lights it
impresses its weird controtions by the
splendor of its ravage beyond the multicolored dome of
religious shrines east and west.
Il ne puet etre autre chose.
Molecule infused with viciousness and
darkness of its awe-inspiring glory
across earth's feeble plain with its
humbling effect without a token or trace of
mercy while April comes and goes like a
rebel without a cause in custody of
earth's listless life, a voyeur voyaging with
bones strewn in its cave seeking
death – the obscurant Orpheus' mirror sniffing out
hope's meticulous stance.

It was so abrupt!
"It must have been lust," they say.
It was a whirlwind.
Obscurant, untamed
Spirit and human nature
With tornado strength
Willed inhibitions
As an announcer calls out
Colors in Twister.
Suddenly! It stopped.
We fell upon each other.
Butterfly effect...
A season of love
Caused a season of hatred.
The funnel cloud left.
Remains of the day
Accounted during clean up
Made crumbs of crullers.
It was too abrupt!
"It must be lust," they all say,
To yield to the wind.
