radicalized
almost hypnotized
evangelized
nationalized
the undereducated
easily manipulated
all of it so calculated
anger quickly cultivated
from one cult to another
with the ferver of a lover
new beliefs to discover
greater hatred for the other
to reality now blind
fear and hatred combined
true solutions undefined
striking terror in mankind
will this hatred cease
violence decrease
or divisions just increase
Will we ever know our peace?

Remembering Memorial
The last Monday in May
We need to all remember
Why we Nationalized this day
Began with Decoration Day
To put flowers on the tombs
Of ones killed in the civil war
That sent them to their dooms
Was made a National event
In one nine seven one
Officially Memorial Day
For dead, of all wars, not just one
We must keep within our thoughts
That our freedoms are not free
The ones we honor on this day
Gave their all for you and me
Went when they heard duty call
Did not flee or run away
Should recognize their sacrifice
And the price they had to pay
Some now recognize this day
As beginning of the Summer
They are the unappreciative
Don't become one of their number

America is under attack
We might lose our right to bear arms
Socialism is hovering on our backs
And the government now owns our cars
Our healthcare might be nationalized
Just like Canada
But what people don’t realize
This isn’t the answer for America
Too much talk about stimulus
Our banks are in trouble
Spending by our government
Is making us see double
Our founding fathers would be so ashamed
If they knew how things turned out
There are too many people we could blame
Things need to “change” without a doubt
Americans need to speak up
About things that they don’t like
This country needs to shape up
We all just need to unite
Serenity instead of chaos
Is what America needs
So many think this country owes us
But all we are owed is the pursuit of happiness, life and liberty.
