A Second Chance At Life
Miracle Man Narrative
4-14-2023

Two months after major back surgery for Severe spinal stenosis, I survived the widow maker (12-29-2016) & three days later, (January 1st 2017) Sudden Cardiac Arrest. Five days are missing from my recall. Sixteen Fluid bags hung from a chrome drip frame and Doctors told my wife I had little chance of surviving. That it was in God’s hands. In seven days I went from sixteen bags to one and St. Francis Hospital Doctors & Nurses began calling me The Protected One, Superman, Miracle Man, A Fighter, A Tough Old Bird, And My Cardiologist once greeted me the day after Easter with “good morning Lazarus.” As I think back to New Year’s Day 2017 I’m reminded that it wasn’t / isn’t about me. I’m just the vehicle God used to witness to others. God had given me a second chance at life, And Miracle Man Was Born!

Strange Conversations

"Strange Conversations"

Fire come walk with me
so I went walking into
the desolate desert
alone, with Him

but not alone,
the desert has
invisible watchmen
we are never entirely alone.

Silence becomes you
and you speaking
in strange tongues
share strange conversations.

What’s gone before
is done. What is "Now",
is some strange freedom.
What is to come,

who knows what hour
what day, that realisation
in communion, so you
write it all down

to establish 3 parts
like musical notes
in the complex
infusion

waiting to be opened

press any key
to continue

Premium MemberThe Big Event

"Bring me all your broken pieces says the Lord,"
I think he knows, how much I'm trying to keep it
all together... "Air Thought, By Mystic"

Easter the big event is one week away
and I can't help but recall all past resurrections
and past invitations to His table;
I wasn't always prone to sentimental rituals,
too busy raising a family and paying bills;
But today being three quarters down the lane of life,
I feel the need to spend more time in Faithful rituals;
I am going to bake some Easter bread today
unmasked and being thankful for an anti-virus day;
I am going to wear my bright red hat in church
on Saturday evening, when I go for Easter vigil service
and I know Jesus will think, " there goes my girl"
which I will answer, " Happy Easter my Lord"
Then I'll smile, knowing he is the epoxy in my gaps
and the glue that holds me, together.
Everything will be alright if I just hang on tight,
to Him !

The basket of Easter stars has arrived.
Okay, the poser Easter bunnies said.
We can be there shortly.
They envisioned divvying up the Easter stars.

Six for one, seven for the other.
While they were picturing their loot,
The real Easter bunny picked up the entire basket.
Taking all thirteen stars, as was his due.

When the poser bunnies arrived they found a poser basket.
These are not the true Easter stars! One of them said.
Poser bunnies, poser stars, said the Easter elf.

Easter Musing

On Fort Apache Indian Reservation, in Arizona, there is an old pueblo ruin called, "Kinishba", aka "Dull brown house in the middle of nowhere".

On a hill overlooking Kinishba, there is an older ruin where I enjoyed sitting to listen to the wind whispering among the pine trees as I photographed fauna going about their daily routine.

One morning, I was watching snow fall and melt on the ancient paths below, when I suddenly realised that -although water is heavy, and easily spilt - there was not one single path leading directly from the ruin to the spring at Kinishba!

Everyone knows the proverbial "straight and narrow" is the shortest distance between two points, yet every path to the spring had twists and turns for which there was no obvious reason!

One might imagine there may have been a long-gone tree, bush, rock, shrine, or some other superstition to account for those deviations but, whatever the reasons may have been, the snow made it crystal clear that people will ignore the easy straight and narrow to follow the long and winding path of their ancestors for no logical reason whatsoever, century after century after century.

Good luck to you!

Synopsis Of A Miracle
Miracle Man
12/14/2021

Clinically I had died,
I’m told Shock paddles hit my chest 7 times to bring me back.
I had surgery for spinal stenosis then 15 days later
I spent 2 months in the hospital recovering from the “Widow Maker”
On December 29th then Sudden Cardiac arrest three days later on January 1st 2017. (only 8% recover from S.C.A.) Most body functions were shutting down and 16 bags hung on a chrome drip frame sustaining life. My wife was told that there was little hope, there were just too many things going against me all at once. Then My Miracle happened, within hours things immediately changed and in 7 days only 1 bag hung on the drip frame. Doctors told my wife they couldn’t explain it but a miracle had taken place. Jesus had touched my life again. One of the most heartfelt / emotional moments of my life
has been when My Cardiologist entered the exam room a year later (the day after Easter) and referred to me as Lazarus.
God has used my life to witness to Doctors and others since that time and that is why the things I write are signed Miracle Man.
Just felt the need to say this today.

Premium MemberThe Forgotten Holidays

The Forgotten holidays

Written or in this case typed…
correctly; “The” as it was at the beginning correct.
“Forgotten” as it was naming not the action but the lost.
(holidays) No capital as they are thought to be small,
and unimportant by most everyone,
except those that remember.
The truth is we are never sure
who they may be,
until they are; us.

My good friend died last year.
Cancer ate her up.
I missed her birthday,
Valentines cookies,
April songs, May flowers,
Summer showers, birds…
and laughter…
Tea and cakes,
under the big tree, in the back.
Memorial day for the brave,
Labor for the strong,
The 4th, so spectacular,
to light the sky.
She would have loved the show,
I did, but less so without her.

Her anniversary, with him.
She was in love.
Now he is lost.

What happens when no one remembers,
the days that never get to happen,
gone from us, not in our reach at all.
The rest we rearrange,
our schedule to correct the path,
for our new, if unwontedly changed…
Life.

Cards with only one name,
one sender… or worse,
one addressee.

The Easter Triduum

The Easter Triduum

The agony
the pain
the torment
the blood
of Jesus
innocently suffered
affliction
an undeserved pain
tortured by mankind
Christ so kind
was crucified
died
for the world
 says the Word
"This is my Son..."
 all will be done
for salvation
from Last Supper
until the third day
as we continue to pray...

Premium MemberAn Easter Week Verse

He was about thirty

         when he left home,

a strong man by then,

and a skilled carpenter.

He'd helped Joseph

     build most of the houses

in this village you know.

It was so hard..

                to let him go,

nobody believed

he could possibly be

the messiah of the writings,

even though everyone

knew of that miracle of the wine,

over in Cana.

My he was a good son,

I was so proud of him..

was that so wrong of me?

Even though I knew ever since

he was in my womb,exactly

who he was.

He was my firstborn you know ..my eldest..

such a loving,caring nature.

Premium MemberEaster Joy

Easter Joy

The joy of Easter
Is found within
It started way back
When Christ had risen

Now each individual
Is born with the joy
That we are all given
To self employ

The joy is from
The Lord above
The Great I Am
To share His Love

He sent His Son
In human form
To shine His light
For us to conform

It was hard to believe
That Holy resurrection
Since it had been 3 days
After the grim crucifixion

So they say the Easter name
Is from a spring celebration
Of a goddess from England
In which was pre-Christian

Since the sun rises in the east
Instead I would tend to say
It is like the Christ son arose
On the glorious Easter day

Share the joy of Easter
Let it shine so bright
For everyone to see
Like the rising sun light

Jesus was placed in our hearts
Filled with joy when we were born
Maybe the name Jesus means He’s us
Let’s all celebrate His joy on Easter morn

Musings On Easter

Was it the taunting stares
The feelings repressed
The betrayal by a friend
The weight of sacrifice
The promise of Abba

Did you give it up all
Eloi Rama.. Rama..

Was it the burden
The sin upon you thrust
Was there still hope
Was it fear of being castoff
Was it worth My Lord..
Was the sacrifice worth..

An atonement for all sin
Till eternity for all times..

Yet we escape not trials
Yet a throne of judgement
Stands awaiting the trumpets

As mercy upon us
Like dew fall..

Mercy throne we beseech
Deal with us like sons
Heirs of life by grace
Rabbi do teach us

Whisper in our darkening hearts
An awakening of the we spirit
A fellowship with the One yes
My Lord in right and wrong
I still am sandwiched in choice

Twas the Night Before Easter

He knows if you are sleeping,
He knows when you're awake,
He knows if you've been bad or good.
Zombie Jesus must be staked!

So eat your crackers and wine,
And think that you'll be saved,
But that's not why he's here because
Your brains are what he craves!

He'll never stop his rampage.
Not until he's fully fed,
But nothing satisfies his hunger
Like what rattles in your head.

He's coming down the chimney.
He's underneath your bed.
You think you can outrun him,
But soon you will be dead.

So you better not whisper,
You better not cry
Cuz even a shot between his eyes
Won't stop Zombie Jesus, tonight..

2015 White House Easter Breakfast

At the white house Easter breakfast
Obama showed his stripes
He showed us his true colors
For Christian way of life

Never mentioned harm that's done
To Christians far and near
But he got in a "Nasty Dig"
Like National day of prayer

His disdain for everything
That is not Islam based
He shows it every day in life
That bitter ugly taste

Christians all throughout our land
Just listen, and they wait
Hoping for an apology
But he just spews more hate

There's millions that still love him
Some slowly fade away
Embarrassed by the guilt they feel
They don't know what to say

You heard the moans from his remarks
But no one dared to leave
Afraid that they'd be labeled
An honest American breed

His lies surpass his "swearing in"
His hate is seen by all
His tearing down the Christian faith
His true belief will fall...

La Benedizione Della Studio

Blessing the houses
on easter eve day
through out the parish
he sprinkled away

The priest stumbled upon
a studio door
where an artist was
painting moments before.

He splattered the water
all over the room
when artist returned
and stated to fume.

“What the hell are you doing?
“You uncultured jerk.”
“who gave you the right
to alter my work?”

“You should be grateful,”
the old priest complained
“I did you some good
Now go do the same.”

“No,” with a pause
“I expect better
the Lord was quite clear
right down to the letter.”

“Good deeds done on earth
the almighty has told
will be rewarded above
one hundred fold. “

The priest turned around,
headed straight for the door.
The artist went up
to where he was before.

And picked up a bucket
filled to the rim
pour it from the window
to soaked priest to the brim.

“Here’s my gratuito
just like you asked
for the paintings you ruined
from the water you blast.”

I think that the priest
blessed the artist that day
who was cursed with bad painting
that were best washed away
