Spring flowers
Artemisia bear the colourful foliage
Bluebells carpet a magical sight
Coreopsis and cherries blossom
Daffodils are seen in jovial mood
Eranthis buds as the snow melts,
Forsythia screams it's spring time,
Grape hyacinths trumpet arrival
Hellebore shows surprising resilience,
Irises have a charmed goodness,
Japanese anemones pop up in cheer,
Kangaroo paws giggle,
Lilacs give sweeter fragrance
Moss phlox jewels open alongside tulips
Narcissuses dance in joy,
Oriental lilies add colour and drama
Pansy prefers being cool,
Quietude of poppy charms
Redbud feasts for the eyes,
Snowdrop anemone fragrances fortune,
Time for hearty Asiatic lily to hail,
Unfolding beauty of Orchid,
Virginia bluebells and viburnum
Witch hazel adds touch of yellow
X factors in birds of paradise,
Yellow trillium adds a true zing
Zinnia gives lasting affection and goodness.

Three French quatrains, Translation of Etiemble’s Trois quatrains français by T. Wignesan
Fly …fly !
For Sylvie (Etiemble) on the occasion
of commencing primary school
All cats are school-goers
watching a fly fly
but the teacher caught the fly:
one should seize the collar.
October 1978
1. Narcissus
For Sylvie who came late to the mirror stage,
but who has since made up for it… (1981)
All ducks are Narcissuses
kissing the ends of their beaks.
Comes the solstice’s rigour:
the ice clouds the dry mirror.
2. All ducks are Narcissuses
kissing the ends of their beaks.
Comes the solstice’s rigour:
the silt clouds the dry mirror.

Super humans don't exist, at least that's what I thought until I met an
Intelligent person in my classmate when we were just three.
Xerophyte describes our attitudes towards life. She so hot, she makes
Tabasco look like ice. But don't be fooled by her
Appearances, tick her off and you'll see my sis' fist in your face.
So trust me when I say you'll be famous
One day. No matter what they say
On the sky you'll shine brighter than any other star because my
Narcissuses are never wrong about life.
Must we have such talent that
Excludes us from our families?
Tao we try but never
Endure. We must choose our own path and
Obscure our past.
Rippled waves of thoughts run through my brain.
P.S. Sixta is my sis. We've known each other since pre-k and our birthdays aren't even a
month apart!

Despite our weariness from a winter bad weather,
Despite uncertainty and alarm,
Despite excitement and grief of our hearts,
New May has arrived again.
And already it is not important, what he will be:
Cold and elegant, in an easy green raincoat,
Or the egoist in magnificent, bright clothes,
The thoughtless deceiver with with lilac bouquet
Or another, an unfamiliar person,
The most important - we know, that he has arrived!
He has already brought to us generous gifts:
The greens of grass and leaves,
The colors of lilac, tulips and narcissuses,
A lot of sun and the blue sky.
And we shall believe, that he is good and kind,
We shall hope for his love,
And in spite of anything,
We shall enjoy his society!
