Killing Jar Nfc

KILLING JAR

you promised to kill…
this morning a
dark head pacing
sidewinding
slimy sublime
narcissi

the blood read:
trespassers will be
persecuted
strangled
pungent veins
entangled

crammed pulp
congealing
filling
killing jar

First Day of Spring

narcissi stand

                                               eponymously this first

                                               warm sunny spring day

Narcissi

Narcissi bowing in the breeze;
their adorable awkwardness
surfaces to mind small children
dressed in flowered habiliments
in their very first recital.
Each flowery face reflecting
their image at waters edge
like looking into a mirror
pining away in love with each bow,
their own beauty: yellow and white
petals with cup-shaped central crowns.
I gaze at these comely flowers
and seemingly they are aware
of my presence and smile at me.

Medea's Ashes

The crowd is drawn like magnets
Drawing flecks of finely splintered steel.
They stand and stare
At smoke-choked, charred remains-
Magnificent Medea.

Her ashes slowly blow like dust
Upon Atlantic breezes
Rushing over achromatic beaches
Soon to rest on Adirondac majesty.

Death is silent still like Medea's
Ashes on the evening winds.
And in the early dusk that follows dust
One sooted shape is left;
Like a child makes an angel in the snow.

Bouquets of roses spread upon
The ground around black-sooted angel -
Aromatic, multicolored sweet bouquets,
Giving vivid dignity to death in final pose.

A tall thin man with thick white hair
Stands straight and still
Above the remnants of his queen;
He once was hero and marine
In distant wars before Medea
Stole his soul and made it whole.

The cattails cluster'd round
Medea's marbled pond
Are crying muted cries
As they bend and bow to something
Larger than their friend upon the wind.

A single night-hawk flying by
Ackowledges the cattail's cry
As it dives above narcissi trumpets waving -
Modulated bright and bulbous yellow
In the twilight's dim and faded light.

Weaving a Poem

Poets take hold of one thread,
Ponder it , turn it over to question
its strength.

They brush it against the
azure face of the sky, dip it in the
warmth of the sun,
teach it the language of water
and the whispers of wind…

They wrap it around the crystal
droplets of rain falling on a
ravenous narcissi.
Then wait with the faith of hermits
for the breath of the night to blow
about disoriented threads
out of the silver aura of the
moonlight and the intermingled
zephyr of the seasons.

Dangling them from the gold-dripping
edges of stars, they weave them
into a galaxy of feelings mixed
with the wildness of life

Glorious Spring

Spring is here!!........ its very name, sets our hearts aglow,
all dormant life springs into action, after Winter's icy blow,
the harsher that frosty Season, the more we welcome Spring,
with its rejuvenating vigour, our World begins to sing.

As if passing through a 'Seasonal Gate', there's a secret Eden of pleasure,
suddenly we're surrounded by throbbing life, full of colourful treasure,
gambolling new born lambs, very light upon their feet,
bounding away to test new freedom, but not too far from Mother's bleat!

Crocus, Daffs and Snowdrops clamour for us to view,
Narcissi and Tulips in new Spring robes declare, 'we are in this too'!
a stimulant to young love, and sometimes not so young, this Season is a joy,
for this is how the World's gone round, since Adam was a boy.

Mother Nature has re-awakened, and donned her festive gown,
her glorious Show proclaims to all, she still wears her sparkling crown,
we thank you our dear lady, and, as so many times before,
when your Springtime's come along, you make our spirits SOAR!!.
hicky.

Suffering Humanity

If I could take away the pain
I see in people’s lives
I wish I had the power
Like turning on the lights
Sadness makes it self-known
I see it all around me, it groans
Diseases all abound
Killings
Bodies on the ground
Abuse
No shoes
Poverty
Loss of property
Pain from a beating
Cheating
Drinking
Then meetings
Eating
In access
Sadness
Then you’re depressed
Racism
Narcissi
Catabolism
Child ***********
Cancer
Then a visit to radiology
Bills
Pills
Alcohol
High cholesterol
It goes on and on
Like the verses to a bad song
How long
Do we watch this madness?
Filling empty eyes
Of sadness
Oh I wish I could take it all away
At least that’s the message
I’m trying to convey
